Summary: We bought this for my Father in laws birthday present, we were after an all in one printer with slide and negative scanner that had separate colour ink cartridges and allowed printing from his iPad. This was the only device we found which ticked all the boxes, and we found it faster than the separate devices it was replacing and very pleased with the quality. The whole device feels very high quality and the interface on it is very nice as well.
Summary: Got this as needed a second printer/scanner and already had the excellent MG6250. This offered even better scanning and copying negatives/slides. Top quality scanning and photo prints although ink isn't cheap.
Summary: I've had a few PIXMA printers before, and all have been good, but I bought this one because of its separate scanning unit for 35mm slides and megatives. For the same price as a good quality slide scanner, this provides both an excellent scanner and an excellent printer as well.
Conclusion: Overall very happy, the size was a bit daunting at first but cannon have managed to pack a lot of good features into the printer, my favourite would be printing a screen shot or photo from my mobile phone from anywhere in the house or back yard. Our girls do home work and print from their desks without the need of USB sticks or cables.... a very nice feature.
Pros: Reliable, Easy Setup, Sharp Tones & Colors, Fast Print Speed, Easy to use
Cons: Large Footprint, Heavy/Bulky, High Ink Consumption
Summary: My previous separate Canon scanner and printer were both 9 years old and had seen a lot of hard use with two different computers and operating systems. Based on this good experience I replaced with an all in one Canon scanner/printer. I have had it for 2 months now and it is performing brilliantly. I can see the improvements in both printing and scanning compared to my old devices.
Summary: Having bought an Epson XP 750 and returned it because it was a disaster, what a joy it was to get the Canon MG8250. The set up process was clearly explained and straightforward. I followed the on screen instructions and It connected wirelessly to my Mac immediately and has been no trouble ever since. With some trepidation I tried to connect it to my wife's Ipad, again no trouble, the Ipad recognised it immediately and started printing.
Summary: It just works. I connected ours to the network wirelessly - every device picks it up (including iPads/iphones) and it just prints. The matte black looks great and whilst the speed is not as quick as I had expected it does a reasonable job. Photos are also of very high quality. The only issue is the amount of software canon insists that its products bring with them. Set up manually rather than "recommended" too remove all of the bloat ware.
Summary: Delivery: Arrived within its due date. Packaging: Very well packed and when unpacked..product was found to be in first class condition. Product: Out the box..switched it on along with my pc, put the cd disc into the pc....Oh, I did read that if you are running widows 8 you need to put the OS cd into your pc to load the right drivers.......the rest was done between the pc and the printer other than me pressing a few buttons. no cable needed all done via wifi.
