Eats ink like a hungry moose or a deserving porcupine

Not the droids you're looking for, Amazon
25 February 2014
  • Summary: Good quality prints but it eats ink and the ink is expensive (not always easy to find either). I'll get a laserjet next time.

Very good all-rounder

Deputy Don, Amazon
30 January 2014
  • Summary: I am very please with the performance of the machine, especially the colour printer and the slide/negative scanner- far far superior to the cheapo slide copiers. The only gripes I have are that: 1. it only handles 35mm and 2. the on screen controls are not intuitive. I don't want to use Canon's filing structure. I just want straightforward easy to use controls. They are there but not obvious.

My Best Printer.

David J. Wilson "Gadget", Amazon
12 December 2013
  • Summary: I've had a good few printers over the years, but this knocks them all into a cocked hat. As a test I put a twenty pound note in the scanner, there is software in place to stop you copying the whole note, but what it did print out, matched the note exactly. My Daughter and Husband, were amazed and said that the office printers that they have could not match it.

Expensive to run - wish I had not bought it.

Madge, Amazon
13 October 2013
  • Summary: Sorely disappointed and wish I had never bought it. Uses colour cartridges like 'no tomorrow'. Does not use just black for printing just text, even after guidance from Canon's technical team. Also changed my settings to 'greyscale', but still eating colour cartridges. I don't use it any longer as it is too expensive to run. I also found getting hold of Canon's technical team extremely difficult and found the team a little unhelpful.

Canon Pixma MG8150

Marsh Harrier, Amazon
21 June 2013
  • Summary: I have owned this printer for a couple of weeks and have had no problems either setting it up or running it so far. I have given it 4 stars because it is too short a time to be certain whether it is worth 5!

One of the better printers

AVOID

JonnyD75 "jonny-d", Amazon
29 March 2013
  • Summary: After doing a bit of research I decided on this printer when my old faithful Epson died. I also thought a high quality scanner would be useful for some projects I wished to embark on. This printer is horrific to set up as many have pointed out with numerous drivers needing to be installed and the Wifi flakey at best. It is big and heavy but the trays surprisingly fragile and the build quality is not what I would have expected for the price.
