Summary: This is an excellent machine. Why only 3 stars? The ink cartridges hold about 2 tea spoons of ink and seem to run out every time you turn your back. If it were not for the excellent third party inks available this machine, using Canon inks, would not be economically viable. Prints,scans,copies well, but get yourself a good supply of spare cartridges cause your going to need them.

Summary: Failed after just 2 years with the same print head problems that so many others report. Nothing we tried could resolve this and a new print head is almost as expensive as the printer (and there's no guarantee that replacing the head will solve the problem anyway). This print head problem (which Canon really should have sorted out by now) is a great pity because otherwise this is an excellent printer (apart from its glossy finish, which is an absolute dust trap!
Summary: Bought in August 2012, died in Oct 2014, with the dreaded B200 print head error, followed by error code 5100, then nothing. Cost £100 from a box-shifter with a load of cartridges - maybe I should have suspected why it was being given away? Used 5 days a week for b&w text printing, occasional colour prints, and always with cheap pattern ink cartridges - it seemed to get through loads of them, although I always used them down to the last drop.
Summary: Also had the print head error fault after 18 months. Horrified to read online about how many others have had this problem and Canon's complete lack of response. Shame as was a truly exellent printer with great features but will never buy a canon printer again as seems they are designed to fail shortly outside warranty. Now left with a bunch of expensive cartridges which are of no use.

Summary: After 2 years of happy use mine died suddenly. Even an extended warranty would not have helped. Would an external, replaceable power supply have helped I wonder? During the 2 years I encountered 1 silly glitch: a scrap or torn off paper entered the printer via the paper tray, this totally disabled the printer which simply could not be disassembled enough to remove the scrap.

Summary: Absolute rubbish as it failed just out of warranty, We had hardly used it as we are away a lot. do a google search on all the problems with this model and class action against canon in the US.
Summary: This was a good printer - when it worked. Annoyingly it regularly dropped it's wi-fi settings requiring setting up from scratch again. Worse though is the dreaded 'B200 error' message, which tells you to refer to a service agent. There's lots of suggested workarounds on the internet so lots of people have the same problem. Unfortunately none of them worked for me.
Summary: Watch out for this seller!! NEW does not mean that, just that it has not been supplied to a customer before - so as in my case it has scratches all over the case as it was an ex-demo, if only I had not trusted a product title of NEW and read into the full description where this information was hidden. I wanted to send the unit back as I felt such a badly looked after case could indicate more problems, BUT...
