Conclusion: Had for approximately 18 months(warranty over),for minimal home use. Power stopped and tried everything. Canon rep was very nice but said there was nothing they could do. Stuck with a lot of unused ink that I can't find a compatible printer for.
Pros: easy to use
Cons: Slow Print Speed, Heavy/Bulky, High Ink Consumption, unreliable
Conclusion: One + yr old MG5320 machine worked fine one day then following day paper came out clean--nothing printed, no smudges, etc. Had it looked at by repair person. After 2 + hours he got it to work---for two days. only Then the same problem returned. Machine was cleaned, drivers updated, new ink cartages installed, etc. Machine still will not print.
Cons: Difficult Setup, High Ink Consumption, unreliable
Conclusion: I have had 2 other brands of 3-in-1 copiers that I prefer to this particular Canon. They were much easier to operate right out of the box. I found this one to be more complicated than I'd anticipated. I've spent way too much time looking for downloaded pictures, scanned documents, and trying to move items from one folder to another.
Pros: fast print speed
Cons: Difficult to use, Difficult Setup, High Ink Consumption
Conclusion: When it was working it was OK for the price. But just as I replaced a cartridge it died. No amount of "turn the printer off, unplug it from the power source, reconnect the plug and turn the printer back on" was helpful. The suggestion to "see the service manual" led me to the advice to "contact the service center". Nope. Gotta get a new printer. Lasted just about one year.
Conclusion: Bought this for my third home desktop computer. Several years ago I got a Canon LIDE scanner-only machine, which I love and am still using. I will be sad when it finally wears out. I wanted to get another one just like it, but was disappointed to find that no one would sell me a scanner without a paper-burning, ink-guzzling printer.
Pros: Easy Setup, easy to use
Cons: Slow Print Speed, Large Footprint, Flimsy Construction, long warmup cycles, no black & white color mode for scanning
Conclusion: High ink consumption!! Its higher than high & gets very expensive.Have switched to an off brand occasionally. The savings will allow me to purchase another printer quickly.Photos can consume the whole tank! Be careful with ink usage.
Conclusion: i have had this product 1year the product has arrived broken b4 even getting to use it when it did work had great prints, the scanner is no good for pictures they come out nothing of equal or same quality this machine has had to get the print head replaced many times,
Pros: Easy Setup, Sharp Tones & Colors, fast print speed, easy to use
Cons: unreliable, Flimsy Construction, poor scan qaulity, easily breaking down
Conclusion: I purchased this on sale to print DVD's but also use the wireless scan capability. You cannot print to DVD using the WIFI connection, it must be wired to the computer. The printer also has a quirk where you must close the DVD print slot, then open it again to insert the tray. You cannot leave the DVD slot open between print jobs which is quite annoying.
Conclusion: I bought this unit expecting the same quality from Canon that I had with my previous printer. While the setup was easy and full size pages looked good, I was really disappointed when printing envelopes. The addresses almost always come out smugged. Most of the time it'll take multiple attemps to get a decent one.
Pros: Easy Setup, easy to use
Cons: unreliable, High Ink Consumption, smugged printing
Summary: Edit: May 2013 - I'm guessing that when it tells you the ink cartridge is empty, it really isn't...some sort of software ploy to get you to change ink cartridges early. All my cartridges have been saying they are empty now for a few months, but it keeps on printing so I've yet to change any of them.
