Conclusion: As many seem to have mentioned. We bought this printer in the last few years, have used it very lightly and out of nowhere it will not print black any more. I replaced every cartridge and ran all the various cleaning and diagnostics several times with no luck. I've wasted time and money -- the cost of replacing all the inks in a futile attempt to get the printer to work is almost as much as buying a cheap replacement printer.
Conclusion: This is my second Pixma series printer. Love the all in one functionality and that the printer is small enough to fit on a shelf in my wall unit. No complaints. My observation is that most printers today don't last as long as ones from previous years so I'm happy with a couple of years especially considering the reasonable price.
Conclusion: I am extremely disappointed with this printer. It is a little over a year old and it has completely stopped working. I printed something and decided to print another copy and the printer was dead. I tried several things to revive it to no avail. I will now purchase another printer but it won't be a Cannon. This ones response time was also poor from time to time.
Conclusion: Glad I didn't read these reviews before I bought the MG5320. It is the best printer I have had including lasers. It may be not as fast as office printers but fast enough to print a cheap sharp copy for duplication later at someone else's expense. And that includes scanned documents and photos. It also has options within a average person's ability to understand and successfully execute. Technical support has alway been there when I reach my limit.
Conclusion: I was very happy with my previous canon printer which lasted over 10 years. This one however is to be avoided. This is only about one year old and suddenly the magenta will not work despite cleaning, deep cleaning, and cartridge replacements. I'm so disappointed. Spend the money on something that will last instead of "saving" money on this thing that will end up in a landfill within two years.
Conclusion: Same review as everyone else. I went to print one day and it would not print anymore. Just spits out blank pages. I tried to do all the ink tests and even bought new ink. Still won't work. Not even that old! Lovely!!
Conclusion: I bought a Prixma MG5320. I was still using the first ink cartridges that I replaced for original ones and they were still in the half when out of the blue the printer gave the B200 error. I bought another set of cartridges because it is one of the recommendations to fix it, among a ton of other useless recommendations I realized that there are a ton of other canon customers that had been felt into the same trap. I'll need to buy another printer! Won't be another canon!
Conclusion: had over a year and works fine, from print to scan. the only issue is the INK, 2 black inks 5 in total. don't even know which black INK tank handles B & W only prints as I would only buy that one
