  • Conclusion: This printer is a great product and is very Mac Friendly which is one of the reasons I purchased it. Another is the fact that it requires less ink replacement than others.

Decent enough

  • Conclusion: I don't know why so many people have trouble using the Wi-Fi feature. I installed this printer about 6 months ago and since then I have never once had to plug the USB in or had problems with the Wi-Fi. Maybe I got lucky? Anyway, for me this printer does exactly what I expected. The printing of color pictures (such as from websites, on regular paper) isn't extremely high quality but I didn't expect it to be for the price. I'm happy with this printer and use it often.

  • Conclusion: I always like Japan designed or made product because of their quality. I see a lot of complaints on here, but on Amazon; this is rated highly. Yes, this printer sucks up a lot of ink. That's how most manufacturers make their money now. You can buy ink refills or generic brand cartridges to save. Always buy the large one. The install on Window XP with the CD drivers were fine. When I installed the second time with Window 7 x64 bit, it could not detect the network.

  • Conclusion: I have used this little printer for four weeks. I purchased for it's ability for "AirPrint" for my iPad. Setup went without a hitch, not experienced jams as other reviews have stated, if you follow the instructions and not load more paper than is required, jams won't be a problem! Print quality is quite acceptable. Follow the "Setup" instructions carefully and you'll have no problems as others have mentioned.
  • Pros: reliable, Compact Design, Easy Setup, Lightweight/Portable, Sharp Tones & Colors, easy to use
  • Cons: high cost of ink

Solid inexpensive printer/scanner

  • Conclusion: I think a lot of the negative reviews on this site come from the fact that the installation procedure is, admittedly, challenging. I was surprised by how many things I needed to download in order to get the printer working (both wired and via wireless internet). I'm not sure if it is easier on PC or not (I'm running Mac OSX 10.7), but the setup might be a challenge for a non-tech-savvy user. HOWEVER, that being said, once it's installed, it is a fantastic product.
  • Pros: reliable, Compact Design, Low Ink Consumption, fast print speed
  • Cons: Difficult Setup

Great everyday printer

Steven Brelsford, Amazon
14 October 2013
  • Summary: We don't print photos very often, but for everyday usage, it's a great printer. Ink is always expensive, but there's always fast draft which helps conserve that. The only thing worth mentioning is that it goes to sleep and must be woken up before usage, which seems a bit counter intuitive for a wireless printer. Otherwise, a good, easy-to-use general needs printer.

Big Performance - User Friendly

NYSOFTWAREMAN, Canon
15 August 2013
  • Conclusion: This is my first wireless printer. So I was hesitant about going Wi Fi. But I have to say the installation was simple. My PC and Ipad recognized the wireless device almost immediately. I did not have to touch the modem at anytime. The enclosed Canon CD Rom used for installation was very user friendly. It gave step by step detailed information during setup. The whole thing took about 10 minutes to install. As easy as the new ink cartridge setup is.
  • Pros: reliable, Compact Design, Easy Setup, Sharp Tones & Colors, fast print speed, easy to use
  • Cons: slow scans
