Summary: I've had this printer for just about a year now, with windows 7 on my laptop. I can deal with the expensive and excessive ink usage and the extra 30 seconds of noise making it needs before and after printing a single sheet of paper. What I can't handle is the DRIVER. One minute it will work fine, the next, DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED. Restart the computer... DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED... Uninstall and re-install the driver... DEVICE NOT RECOGNIZED.
Summary: I plumped for this printer as it was on offer at £29.99 at Argos; I wasn't expecting much for such a low price but it is certainly better than I had imagined it would be. Very simple to set up and print quality is fine for what I need it for - just printing out pages of text and a few pictures for the kids homework.
Summary: Dreadful, dreadful printer that is almost impossible to use. Plug it in and it seems to be just what the photographer ordered, but that will not last long. You will spend hours trying to figure out what has gone wrong. The software is aggressive (the `Solutions menu' will stick itself on your doc at any opportunity and defy attempts to get it off) and it does not even have an ink check that I can find.

Pros: At first glance and use it seemed one of the best value multi-functions
Cons: With use it has turned out to be an abysmal piece of expensive garbage. Confusing software. No utility, you have to decode the printer display. No scanning when ink runs out. No indication of which cartridge has run out.
Summary: I bought this to replace my old Canon pixma and I really don't like it. It is SO loud and the noise isn't something you can get used to and block out. I bought it to print address labels for my home business but am returning it because the noise gives me a headache! It's not just noisy while printing but makes about 20 seconds of really loud screeching to prepare to print and then another 20 seconds after printing. Plus the labels repeatedly jam inside the machine.
Summary: bought for working from home, got a fair amount out of black cartridge before running out, only thing that's a bit annoying is the speed, it's not a heavy duty printer, so don't expect it to be. printing two sided is a nightmare and it prints pages on top of each other so you need to restack them - if you're looking for a basic, simply, easy to use printer, buy this, if you're looking for a heavy duty, fast printer, don't
Summary: Yep this printer is cheap, lightweight and idiot proof. It's a Canon and does it's job well. I have printed excellent A4 size pictures from it and can not complain at the image quality especially when I get paid for them Very simple to use. Plug in, insert paper/photo paer and press print. Very quick and easy. IT WORKS!!
