Summary: We needed a less expensive alternative for church leaders to use in preparing materials to share in their various projects. Took me a little longer to set up than I expected because there is a plastic piece that goes on the back of the machine I couldn't figure out how to install from the directions. It turned out to be vital in holding the paper tray in place so it would stay shut. Once I got that figured out, it has worked well.
Summary: I brought this for my parents who don't have a computer or need a fax, they just wanted a copier. I set it up and they have been using it daily for several months and made at least a thousand copies. No problems, the imaging is good and the ink lasts (they changed the cartridge once). From that I can recommend it as a copy machine.
Summary: So far, so good. The quality of print output is very nice. The only kerfuffle I had was initializing the unit with my laptop -- because I am running Windows Vista 64-bit with 4Gig RAM. The disks that come with the unit are not compatible with 64-bit Vista. So, I went to Canon Customer Service. The guy there was quite proficient and very helpful. We found a download on the Canon site, but it wasn't a user-friendly download.
Summary: This unit was offered as a Lightning Deal for around $165 with free shipping. I'd been thinking of a laser printer after several years of messing about with various inexpensive inkjet printers, deciding that most of my printing needs are, indeed, satisfied by B&W. The fact that this unit has additional functionality was a bonus. Ordered it on a Monday; it arrived on Friday, speedy even with the free shipping.
Summary: I was looking for a multi-task machine and this has taken care of all my office needs. It looks good and works very well. However, the first one I received would not turn on but Amazon replaced it with no questions asked and the return and replacement was handled quickly and effortless. Although I need to take a course on 'technology for dummies', my son had no problem setting it up for me and I've been very happy with its performance.
Summary: I purchased this device to replace a poorly-designed HP Laserjet 3330 multifunction. Overall, I have been happy with it. And compared to the HP piece of garbage, this is light years better. Printing is fast and clear, scanning with or without the ADF is quick. The fax works fine and the faxing from computer is very basic but handy. I've owned the printer for 4-6 months. Here's my list of nitpicks about the device: 1.
Summary: Pros: - The setup is fairly straight forward. It took me about an hour to have the printer setup, testing network printing, USB scanning, and copying. - The print speed and quality are very impressive. Cons: - The light stays on constantly per design, even in Energy Saving mode. Howerver, this light doesn't cost you 650 Watts as thought in a previous post. According to the spec, the printer consumes only 14 Watts in Energy Saving mode.
