I think I'm in Love
17 September 2013
Summary: I bought this printer to replace an hp photosmart 4650, color ink jet which I hated. The printer cost less than the ink cartridges. In contrast this is a monochrome laser printer. I just received and installed it. As usual Amazon gets a 5. The instructions are designed for stupid people like me, so installation was a snap. At work we've had many canon copiers, so this printer is similar from a documentation point of view - very easy to understand and follow.
Summary: The printer came well packed and ready to install. I use a wireless next work and was familiar with networking. If you follow the instructions included with the printer and software you should have no problem installing it. For years I had a Dell Laser printer and it was big and bulky, slow to respond and just a plain boat anchor. This printer does it all, but color. I like the quick response from energy saver to printing. It is a lot quieter than my Dell.
Summary: For my purposes, this copier does the job. I occasionally print. I'm not a big printer by any means. I print maybe a couple of pages once a week. So I wanted something that was wireless, laser, a copier, a scanner and would work with my Mac. This device fit the bill.
Summary: I purchased this item because my daughter is in college and I needed a multi printer, scanner, fax...etc., to cover everything needed. I would recommend this item to anyone on a personal level of business level.
Summary: The printer arrived well packaged in speedy fashion. After I unpacked the printer and hooked up power an net work line the instructions easily talked you through the setup a long with the provided software. Once the initial setup was complete it was a breeze go wireless with all my laptops. The printer has been working great for going on a month now and I would recommend it to whoever is looking for a nice wireless laser printer.
Summary: This is just a great all in one. It does everything very well from scanning to printing to faxing. The inclusion of wireless is even better, I can print from any device on the network or from connecting to it wirelessly. I use this in my office and I've gone through 2 toner cartridges in 3 months. The starter that comes with it runs out pretty fast. It produces good quality prints fast. So far this beats any brother, lexmark, hp all in ones I've had so far.
much happier with this than my HP officejet inkjet printer

Summary: ***UPDATED REVIEW to 5 stars .... after wasting some more paper and toner I called Canon tech support to figure out how to change the default setting from double sided printing to single sided and found that Canon's customer support center is in the USA so for that alone I'd give them the extra star to five stars. The man was very pleasant and quickly showed me how to change the default setting to single sided printing.
Summary: ************* June 28, 2013 ************* My apologies for posting a pre-review review, but I discovered an unexpected feature last night and wanted to share the secret: For those who are connecting the MF4880 to their local network via ethernet or wifi, of course the machine will be assigned an IP number. As I skimmed the manual, I noticed that you can load that address in your web browser, e.g., 192.168.1.100.
