buyer beware - you will recieve a refurbished product
24 September 2013
Summary: I received this printer and it worked for a few days, when you try to return it they will give you a refurbished product. When I received the refurbished product that one didn't work. No refunds are given. I don't understand how amazon wants to sell a new product and when you it doesn't work, they want to replace with a used broken one.
Overly complex setup; setup function keys do not work as written in the starter guide.

Summary: The fax setup is especially complicated. Even worse, if you make an error and discover it after you have proceeded to the next step there is no obvious way to correct the error. I bought this unit to replace an easy to use HP multi-function printer (Officejet 7410) because it would not start--possible AC adapter malfunction. The HP was easy to set up and easy to use.
Summary: Frustrating. Will not connect to a Mac with Mountain Lion. Called Canon support, couldn't solve, so they told me to call Apple. Would have cost me $20 for Apple support so I think I'll just return.
Summary: I purchased this printer from Costco to replace my 10 year old HP Laser printer. What a mistake that was. It was a cheaply made printer, the paper tray is just a cover that sticks out at the bottom, I could not get the fax to connect to my computer. If you have a Mac then you have to go and try and track down the drivers because they do not include them with the printer. After a day of trying to get this to work I returned it to Costco.
Cons: could not get my computer to see the fax could not get my computer to see the scanner
