Mission Adequate

Aaron D. Chacon, Amazon
19 April 2012
  • Summary: This worked well when it was working. But the cartridges cost nearly $100 each and it only lasted four years before it began to give phantom paper jams. And then the network interface died.

Not as advertised

Roger Beck, Amazon
9 September 2009
  • Summary: My only problem is that Canon gave me wrong information, and it seems to be industry wide, and that is to confuse "duplex scanning" with "duplex printing". I bought this printer on the Canon reps description of the product that it does "duplex scanning" meaning to scan both sides of one document at...

The only product that I would buy!

Callie Martin, pcRUSH.com
26 October 2008
  • Summary: Comments about Canon imageCLASS MF4690 Multifunction Printer: I have always wanted a multi function printer so I’m a newbie at the all in one. I really like the fact that you can save space by combining the machines. Although intimidating at first glare its very user friendly.

Great Printer (okay maybe not so great-see update)

HJB101, Amazon
4 July 2008
  • Summary: I've had this unit a couple of months now and I must say I'm quite happy with it. It was the top rated laser All-in-One in the May 08 issue of Consumer Reports. I've bought only HP printers in the past, but my last HP was so bad (HP LaserJet G55 All-in-One) that I finally decided to go to another...

Pay more to get this one with flash drive access if you're not good at networking

Chris Morgan, Amazon
25 May 2008
  • Summary: I'm a light user with average- to above-average amateur computer skills and have had this for a couple of months. I can't speak to reliability but it prints crisply and scans well.

Good Multifunction - not for Mac

Jonathan Moore, Amazon
15 April 2008
  • Summary: I use Macs and PCs at home, as was able to use the printer functions on my Mac over the home network, but only while I was running OS 10.4. After upgrading to OS 10.5, I haven't been able to reach this printer with my Macs. It has worked flawlessly with our PCs from day one.

Could be better

J. C. Nicholas, Amazon
20 January 2008
  • Summary: I'm a Canon fan, but I'm disappointed with this product. Of two very similar products, "professional" reviews picked the Dell MFP 1815dn, but consumers liked this unit more. I prefer consumer ratings.
