Summary: I have owned this printer for 3 days. Currently, it is not working very well. I think this might have something to do with the Vista drivers. The printer driver will say error when I look at the queue, and then print the document. However the doc prints slanted. I had a 4150 and it did the same thing so I took it back. This is going back to. Is it too much to ask that the printer prints non-slanted docs?
Great potential short-circuited by poor paper handling!
10 March 2008
Summary: Great potential, but short-circuited. This unit performs many of the most-wanted office functions, but is derailed by poor paper handling. I bought this new off eBay, but there is no warranty. After about a week of use it started giving the paperjam error message. You have to open two doors to reset the error. In every case, there is no jam but the machine stops until you perform the door opening.
Summary: I was so excited to get this printer for my home office; I love my Canon inkjet and am fiercely loyal to the Canon brand. But alas, after struggling for over an hour to get the Macs on the network to talk to the printer (and I'm a sysadmin!), dealing with the antiquated drivers on Canon's website (who uses .sitx anymore?), I returned the printer and purchased a Brother MFC-8860DN for $100 more. What a difference.
