Summary: This is a good purchase. Watch out when putting it on a battery back up as it pulls a lot of juice and could potentially cause some issues as it did with me. Once that was diagnosed properly we were golden. This baby is fast and the quality is there.
Excerpt: These printers are like army jeeps - they just work flawlessly in a high volume business (10,000 pages per month). The only gripe is that the new Imageclass has a 64K limit on faxed documents. This limits the faxed documents to about 48 pages - which is a real bummer. My prior model 1170 did not have that limitation. The new scan speed is remarkable (in color) and very improved over the prior models.
Summary: This machine offers many great quality features like legal size platen, fax receive and forward, network, duplex printing, scanning, and speed.... neccessary for business use for a reasonable price. However, If the driver for the scanned function can be reprogramed to be more user friendly, to give users more control on image quality, preference setting...
Excerpt: I bought this because our previous Canon D600 never offered drivers for Windows x64. The D1370 is lighter/more plastic-y and a lot noisier when printing than the D600 but otherwise prints fine and a second tray can be added. It comes with about 2500 pages worth of toner (not the full 5000 page cartridge) but when the toner runs low (after around 1500 pages) it nags you constantly to 'Prepare Cartridge' and refuses to go into Energy Saver/Standby.
Pros: Easy To Set Up, Easy To Use, Fast Print Time, Reliable
Excerpt: After having gone through 2 other multifunction machines in the last year, this one is a winner. It warms up and prints from energy saving mode in a matter of seconds. This was the biggest problem I had with other machines I have used. I also like the 2-sided copying.
