Summary: We bought this printer to have the option of printing from the paper drawer and/or from the multi function tray. Every other Canon we have owned automatically recognizes paper in the multi function tray and feeds it if paper is present.
Excerpt: Had this printer for a total of 6 weeks; purchased in January 2014. This printer will sporadically produce copies that are crooked in nature. Whether using the top loader or traditional scanning function, pages will come out crooked (rotated to the right).
Summary: About every 10 pages it will not pick up the paper from the tray and I have to open the tray, open the toner cover, and restart again. I have tried several different types of paper and get the same results. My advice is to save the box and packing so you can send it back.
Summary: Was a great printer for a small business or home office. I mostly used it to scan over my network. At first, but there were some minor annoyances. The included Canon software for scanning is garbage, I downloaded Another PDF Scanner from Sourceforge and use that software instead.

Summary: Bought this machine in October 2013. In November 2014, it began to display issues with freezing and not responding. Calls to Canon resulted in instructions to unplug the unit, wait a couple of minutes, and then restart.

Summary: I accept the fact that many of these copy machines have a life span of 2 years and then need replacing. But a life span of 2 weeks seems sparse. The paper feeder started to malfunction after 2 weeks of very light use. Needless to say, I returned the product.
