Summary: Only giving it four stars because the Canon tech support is terrible. I'm posting the review in hopes of helping others who are having issues with it waking up after going to sleep mode or energy saving mode. Here is THE SOLUTION that works.
This has to be the worst printer I have ever owned

Summary: This has to be the worst printer I have ever owned. It tries to do so much, and fails on most counts. I have struggled to keep this printer working for two years. The cartridges are outrageously expensive and the printer has to be constantly tinkered with to print.
Summary: Bought this at a busy time. Spent hours trying to install it, follwing the directions meticulously. My WiFi network cannot find any sign of the device. I went to the Canon site and uploaded the most recent drivers following directions and tried to install them. No sign of success.
Summary: We have had this printer in the office for about a year now. Here are the things we have discovered. The user interface is NOT very user friendly. I have been able to figure it out because I'm fairly intuitive when it comes to computer products, but the others in the office fight it all the time.
Summary: I replaced a color HP laser printer that didn't stand up to much use in my office, or my home office. This Canon has been excellent! A Work Horse!!!! The down sides: not as easy to change paper sizes ie: envelopes so I have given up on that. Canon Support is FAR SUPERIOR to HP!!!!!!!!
Summary: If you can afford the printer cartridges, this is the ONLY printer to have! I finally tossed away my $100 printers that kept failing and purchased this one at the suggestion of a professional commercial copier salesman who knew exactly what I was looking for.
Prints great, WIFI lost when sleep, canon's site blows

Summary: I purchased this printer at frys for a great price, has all the features I was looking for, mainly auto feeder, dupexing, and wifi. The printer itself works great, makes great copies, blah, blah, blah. The beef I have with it is that WIFI disconnects when the printer goes into power saving mode.
Summary: My company just purchased our 2nd printer! Everyone like the quality of the color prints, we needed add a second one for another department. Toner cartridges/ laser is the way to go! No more little ink cartridges that clogged and don't last! This is a very reliable printer and copier.
Summary: The physical setup is pretty much a breeze, but after that it goes down hill. As a printer, it works great. The scanning function, especially using a Mac on a peer-to-peer network is convoluted.
