Cons: This printer has numerous problems. The scanner feeds documents crookedly. The wireless settings constantly fail and must be reset; it often will not allow you to input new networks or passwords. It wont print when it runs out of ONE TYPE of ink.
Excerpt: When I purchased my Brother all in one printer, I was pretty excited at what it can do. Copying, Faxing, and printing are easy! I love that this printer has a wireless feature because my husband and I are usually on our laptops simultaneously. There is no need to plug in your lap top. I love being on one side of the house and printing wirelessly on the other. THe printer also has a feature where you can scan images to your e-mail, or directly to a file on your computer!
Excerpt: This is the fastest color printer i have ever owned. It hardly uses any ink either. Cartriges are inexpensive. It has a second paper tray that can handle 11x17 paper. A heavy duty printer that only cost about $300 at office Depot. I reccomend this printer highly because it is freakin fast and also network ready, both wired and wireless. Has card reader built in. Folks, this is a good-un !
Excerpt: I needed something good quality for school and this does not disappoint. I use it daily and it has not jammed or anything so far. Ink does not need to be replaced too often but when it does it can be rather pricey if you do not buy through somewhere cheap.
Excerpt: When we brought this unit home, I had pretty high expectations, although I must admit that I that I was a little concerned about networking all the computers in the house (3) without some professional help to the printer using a wireless router. Well, all my fears were put to rest after about 2 hours of basic troubleshooting. I got the printer up and running and fully functioning in a lot less time than I imagined. And the print quality was very good.
Excerpt: I have typically been a fan of HP printers but I now have to tip my hat to Brother. The MFC-490cw that I just purchased has to be one of the easiest to setup printers I have ever owned. The wireless function, which can be a real pain to setup, was quite simple to get working with my wireless home network. From unboxing to printing only took around 10 minutes.
Excerpt: We needed a new printer for our home office. Our old one just wasn't performing up to par. I bought this printer because I thought it would be a good alternatove to what we had been using. From the get go, I had problems with this printer. I went through the setup twice, and it still did not want to set up. It finally decided it would on the 3rd try. The menu on this printer is a tad bit compliacted for my tastes. I like simple menus, so this one did not cut it for me.
