Cons: This printer has numerous problems. The scanner feeds documents crookedly. The wireless settings constantly fail and must be reset; it often will not allow you to input new networks or passwords. It wont print when it runs out of ONE TYPE of ink.
Excerpt: I needed something good quality for school and this does not disappoint. I use it daily and it has not jammed or anything so far. Ink does not need to be replaced too often but when it does it can be rather pricey if you do not buy through somewhere cheap.
Excerpt: When we brought this unit home, I had pretty high expectations, although I must admit that I that I was a little concerned about networking all the computers in the house (3) without some professional help to the printer using a wireless router. Well, all my fears were put to rest after about 2 hours of basic troubleshooting. I got the printer up and running and fully functioning in a lot less time than I imagined. And the print quality was very good. If someone is...
Excerpt: I have typically been a fan of HP printers but I now have to tip my hat to Brother. The MFC-490cw that I just purchased has to be one of the easiest to setup printers I have ever owned. The wireless function, which can be a real pain to setup, was quite simple to get working with my wireless home network. From unboxing to printing only took around 10 minutes.
Excerpt: When I purchased my Brother all in one printer, I was pretty excited at what it can do. Copying, Faxing, and printing are easy! I love that this printer has a wireless feature because my husband and I are usually on our laptops simultaneously. There is no need to plug in your lap top. I love being on one side of the house and printing wirelessly on the other. THe printer also has a feature where you can scan images to your e-mail, or directly to a file on your computer!
Excerpt: This is the fastest color printer i have ever owned. It hardly uses any ink either. Cartriges are inexpensive. It has a second paper tray that can handle 11x17 paper. A heavy duty printer that only cost about $300 at office Depot. I reccomend this printer highly because it is freakin fast and also network ready, both wired and wireless. Has card reader built in. Folks, this is a good-un !
Excerpt: I have great experience with brother printers. They are very sturdy and come with good quality and service provided by brother. It's hard to find a good quality router for an affordable price but luckily you do not have to look any further. It is extremely fast so speed is definitely not something you will ever have to worry about if you end up choosing this printer. What I like about the printer the most is it's scanner facility.
Excerpt: We have owned this Brother printer for about 2 years now. It is by far the best printer we have ever owned. I love that it can copy, print and fax all in one. It is nice to be able to get three jobs done with only machine taking up desk space. All of the buttons on the machine are very easy to use. It is very simple to make a copy and they always look well. The printer works well for printing everyday documents as well as pictures.
