Excerpt: Works fine once I got it set up but it took forever to set up. I got everything hooked up and ready to work but could not configure the network settings. Spent a couple of hours and then called customer support and it took her 2 hours on the phone to help me set it up. I've never had this much trouble getting a printer connected. Also the disk provided would not work. It was certainly not a user friendly easy setup.
Excerpt: This is my first time purchasing a Brother printer. This printer does not seem as easy to get up and running as the HP's I have purchased in the past. It did not take over as the default printer in all applications which caused me some difficulty in finding out what was wrong with the printing process. I purchased this printer because the ink was a little cheaper the the HP's that I had in the past. I still have not gotten my wireless wi fi up and running.
Excerpt: This printer is great, especially using the two-sided print. You do not have to do much work, it does it completely on its own. I have this printer wired to my old printer and I am also able to use the wireless to print from my Apple Pro Mac. It had taken a while to figure out how to set it up for the Mac, but worked out in the end.The only down fall about this printer is that it uses ink up too quickly.
Excerpt: The print quality is satisfactory although colors are are not very vivid. Wifi setup is slow requiring a scan for available networks each time. Furthermore, the wifi did not connect even when signal strength is high. If power is lost wifi does not reliably reconnect. When the printer does connect to network the cloud print function works well.
Excerpt: To be fair, I bought this printer for an office where I primarily print to a large copier. My only use for this is for envelopes and labels. It prints labels fine, but it is terrible on envelopes. I must load just a few a time and it smears ink all over them. My church purchased the upgraded version of this same printer and we returned it, it was slow and malfunctioned regularly. Consumer Reports rated these well.
Excerpt: Got this printer for a business woman who's here on a working vacation. The constant loss of wireless connectivity was a cause of great aggravation. I was repeatedly unloading/reloading the driver. The quality of the printout was excellent when working, though.
Excerpt: I bought this as a second printer so I could print via computer at the office. My HP printer was not compatible with the service. All I really need it for is just printing letters and statements and bills. I do the faxing and scanning with my HP printer. It works fine for this and is much quieter in operation than the HP is. I use it via WIFI and this works great!
Excerpt: I followed all the set up instructions to make the printer wireless, but the printer didn't work. I am not a "high tech" person. So, I ended up calling support. We spent quite some time on the phone. Eventually, the representative was able to help me connect to the network. Periodically, I receive a message saying it isn't connected to a network.
Excerpt: this printer has paper jammed at least three times while printing a multiple page document on both sides . the color prints appear muted , washed out with just plain poor color quality . should have replaced my worn out printer with another photosmart .
Excerpt: Once I was able to get the printer attached to my computer it works just fine. I haven't had time to explore all the options. The printing is of good quality and the time printing is fast. I rated it the way I did as I said I haven't explored or used all the options yet. I am excited to explore what this printer can do for me and my family.
