Summary: I am thrilled with this printer. Printing and Scanning up to 11x17 docs is awesome. I use it for work and have to print and scan a lot of engineering drawings and need good detail. This unit provides both. It also can fax, but I don't have a line hooked up to it, so I can't comment on that feature. I've been using my first one for two years now. Liked it so much we bought another one for our office and our engineering department bought an upgrades model with 11x17 tray.
Summary: Perfect for traditional animators. Large format scanner allows for hard copies of standard anim paper ("11.5-"13) to be scanned in through an ADF. While wireless communication between printer and computer are wonderful, printer works much faster with a hard line connection. Printer also is controllable through a phone app.
Outstanding value, especially for a large-format scanner

Summary: Okay, I didn't buy this for its printing capabilities (and I'm sure it's great for that). I bought it because it is by far the most affordable 11x17 scanner on the market. And it absolutely does the job. I had some very old material that size (printed on newsprint, so it was kind of rough and hard to handle) and this machine fed a total of about 250 11x17 pages (in small batches twice, once for each side) through its automatic document feeder VERY reliably.
Summary: Details of purchase: I bought this Brother MFC-J6510DW in November 2011 for approx. one hundred fifty US dollars. Usage of product: Used lightly as primary scanner and secondary printer in small home office network (wired) (Fast Ethernet, 100mbps). A different printer is used for the vast majority of our printing: this black/white laser printer Brother HL-5370DW Laser Printer The MFC-J6510DW covers the occasional need to print in color, and also printing on tabloid size...
Summary: I love my new Brother! I bought this Brother for our new home-based business and I do not regret it at all. Not as fast as I'd prefer it to be, but it isn't turtle slow like my previous printer...so I am content.
Summary: As an architecture student I do a lot of printing on a day to day basis. While I have not yet fully explored all the luxuries this printer has to offer I am pretty pleased with it. I like the fact that I can scan my drawings on sketch paper and upload it to my computer with a click of a button.
Professional quality, w/11x17 scan & print, for home-use price

Summary: The 11 x17 printing and SCANNING (full 11 x17 scan bed) is very useful! (It is hard to find a scanner/printer that can scan 11x17.) The printer was fairly easy to set up - just follow the instructions. I like the larger buttons and LCD display on this printer - better than some dinky touchscreen. The two-sided printing works well also. Overall, this unit beats any HP inkjet printer in quality and value that I have ever owned or used.
Summary: This All-in-one is a great Value. It is great for scanning in line art (pencil or ink) like I do. If you are a comic book artist, you need to be able to scan and print at 11"x17". This combo is a great solution. The scans look great and the prints, while not the best, are very usable. Pencil a page, scan it in, edit/blow it up/whatever, print out the pencils in non-photo blue on you bristol board, and ink away.
