Excerpt: I bought this printer simply to upgrade from a Brother MFC-5895 (this one has duplex, the former did not). I love Brother printers and have never had any major problems with them, and the price of ink is great! This one prints slightly slower than my former printer, not just when using duplex (which I expected), but also when printing multiple copies. Not slow enough to deter my preference for Brother printers, but enough that I do notice.
Excerpt: We've had this printer for a few months for our small business. While the copies are decent, the printer takes an absurd amount of time to start printing a job and to recover from each printing (scanning, faxing) session. The printer itself is very cheaply made. The components all feel like they are going to break when I have to adjust anything (or fill the paper tray--the tray is amazingly flimsy).Something that makes this a truly bad choice for a small office printer...
Excerpt: Got this printer for general office use after using the 11x17 model (MFC J6710DW) for engineering drawings. Very pleased with performance and ink usage. Have been thru tons of low $ promoted brand desk jets (4 in the last 2 years) that did not last past the second cartridge change. Most developed problems with paper handling...jams etc. So far we have been very pleased with Brother. Added bonus..
Pros: Doesn't Jam, Good Value, Easy to Use, Fast, Quality, Easy to Set Up, Performance

Summary: Printer far exceeds my expectations, although I should have checked the dimensions of the unit before I purchased it. Had to make several changes in my office setup to accommodate the printer.
Excerpt: I did lots of research on consumer reports, amazon for product reviews and performance reviews. This multipurpose unit had the best ink cost, pages per cartridge and all the features I was looking for. I recommend this unit to anyone who needs a copier, scanner, printer & a fax!
