Excerpt: The Brother® MFC-J4510DW is everything I'd hoped it would be, and more. The price was right. The print quality is excellent. The unit feels very solid. It's easy to set up and has several different input options.I selected this printer primarily because it can take paper up to 11" x 17", but it does so only in single-sheet mode, through the back.
Excerpt: The copier is somewhat bulky and less convenient than the HP I had. Loading the paper is a bit more difficult as it loads "sideways". Initial setup is easy and straightforward but prints are very light without adjustment, probably this allows the high copy count per cartridge they advertise.
Excerpt: I have the big brother to this printer (MFC-J6920dw) and find that the J4510 is a great backup for lighter printing and quick scans when the other printer is being used. It's also great that they share the same type of ink cartridges - less to keep track of. The quality is about the same on the two printers, so you can start a job on one and finish the print job on the other.
Excerpt: Bought this printer less than a year ago and have had trouble with it from day one. The paper feed has now completely started malfunctioning despite all efforts of trouble shooting from Brother customer Service. I will NEVER buy another Brother Printer again...The are much better options out there for the money.
Excerpt: I bought this to replace the 2nd HP printer I had purchased in 3 yrs.It was on the sale table and never used.Set up was easy, I have a Toshiba Laptop and boyfriend has HP. The wireless option I LOVE and the printing options and size are a plus.I use this for many printig projects as well as printing out school work for my son. Ink prices are compairable to all others. It is a easy clean sleek and has many fearutes I wasnt sure I'd use.
Excerpt: I got this after going through two Epsons and an HP...without heavy use. I read all the pros, cons, reviews, etc. and even called a printer repair shop. They said that the printer that needs repair the least and lasts longest is the Brother brand. I have used it sparingly for the last several days and have found the quality to be good, but it is certainly not a speed demon and it makes all kinds of interesting sounds. Time will tell.
Summary: So far it's a good printer... I especially like the fact I can hook it up thru network Wired or Wi-Fi or USB. I Picked Wired so I wouldn't have to worry about if I'd have issues going thru my Access point like I did with my HP Printer. Pros: Quality is fair enough. Software is about what I expect out of Brother. (HP is nicer but when there is an issue you can't configure it) Ink Price: OMG That's why I bought the printer...
Excerpt: Like the multiple colors and after a search online I found the ink was fairly cheap. Seems to print real fast. When it would print. I would hit print and an hour later the printer would print. It was crazy. I had loaded the cd into three laptops and confirmed it was connected to my Centurylink wifi. But still couldn't get it to print. Finally after fighting it for a wihle I tried printing from Firefox and IE and it worked fine. For some reason it didn't like Chrome.
