Summary: You know there's a problem when the number of bad reviews equal the number of good ones. I bought this because it was inexpensive, printed 11x17 (A3), has a small footprint and is stylish. I bet on the good reviews and LOST. This is the worst printing product with the worst support team I've ever experienced. The set up was a nightmare. I spent 3 days on the phone with Brother trying to hook up the wireless feature with my macbook.
Summary: Such a mixed bag: (-) It clicks, grunts and whooshes as it prints. (-) The paper tray feels very cheap and is somewhat hard to open and shut. (-) Fast-printing text output sometimes shoots right over the output tray to the floor (+) It's one of the cheapest 11x17" printers... (-) ...but you have to hand-feed 11x17" stock one page at a time into the rear "tray" (think slot)... (-) ..
A gazillion features, wireless connections, A and B size paper capability, yay!

Summary: bought this to connect Macs and iPhones and iPAD to be able to print. Set up was easy, print quality is fine for an inkjet, speed is quick enough. This has ample features and the tilting touch screen allows it to hide in a closet and let me send to it, scan from it without it having to take up any desk space, how wonderful to have a touch screen! 11X 17 (B-size dwgs) capability is great for my Engineering work.
Summary: I purchased the Brother MFCJ4510DW for our office printing. It was suppose to simply be set up for basic and immediate need printing that could not be outsourced. Right out of the box, the printer was a disaster. Everything that was printed using the back loading tray came out misaligned and ridiculously crooked. The front loading tray was flimsy and needed jockeying every time to close. The standard bottom paper tray constantly got jammed.
"Brother has handed us a likeable prototype with issues"

Pros: Well. it looks swish, like something out of Star Trek, and it has this neat thing where it can print the A3 paper Quite cheap for all these features Very compact Automatic Doc Feed ADF, and this works very well.
Cons: Wizz whirr BANG, pause wir tick tick tick Crash zip zip zip zip swish and Out IT COMES! onto the floor. I miss my Canon...wah wah. Lots of paper jams on simple A4 printing.
Summary: I bought this Brother printer because it was supposed to me a miser with ink. I only have myself to blame for not inspecting the printer before buying it. It is very clumsy to use and was difficult to set up. I still can't print on my desk top with it just my lap top. I hate talking to customer service to try to solve my problems with the drivers. I really don't expect it to last very long.
Summary: Save your money and get something else, ANYTHING ELSE. A kindergarten kid with crayons, camera, rotary phone and a stack of construction paper is more quiet, functional, stable and will provide you better rendering output than this printer.
Summary: Can I leave negative stars? I bought this printer because it was wireless and had the app for iPhones. Well I had not had the opportunity to use it once! All it ever wants to do is "clean" that's right it sits there all day cleaning the print heads. They are brand new cartridges yet this machine does not work. I wish I had paid attention to all the bad reviews, they are all true. If it is not cleaning the machine is jamming.
