Excerpt: The MFC-J430W by Brother, one of the largest and well-known manufacturers of MFP and AIO units, is an all-in-one printer which features print, scan, copy and fax. Most of these AIOs are usually similar in looks, but differ in features. Let’s have a look at what this one has to offer.
Excerpt: Unlike most sub-£100 inkjet multi-function printers (MFPs), the Brother MFC-J430w leans much more toward being office-centric rather than being a home printer. Given the price, that's a little surprising, but if you're looking for an inexpensive printer for your small or home office, it's a pleasant surprise indeed. The office-centric design doesn't mean that you can't use the MFC-J430w for home printing also.
Pros: Prints, scans, copies and faxes, Fast for business applications, Built-in Wi-Fi, Above average text quality, No Ethernet connection
Excerpt: For a printer that retails for only £108 and is heavily discounted online, the Brother MFC-J430w colour inkjet printer (copy/fax/print/scan) gets things done in a hurry: text pages print at a brisk 7.6 pages per minute or faster. Other strengths include sharp text output and below-average ink costs, if you stick with the high-capacity supplies.
Summary: This is a multi function unit (it has fax) and it can connect either by USB or Wi-Fi. In fact I used both with equal success. I did however have a failure as no matter what I tried it refused to feed photo paper in any way.
