Summary: The printer was a very good buy for the money. It worked well right out of the box. I have had Brothers printers for over ten years and I have had extremely good luck and I do not think that this printer will be any different.
Summary: In case you got down to the reviews and didn't realize what you're looking at: the Brother MCFJ265W is color ink-jet, multifunction machine. It prints, scans, and faxes. It's wireless. It's an inkjet. It's pretty cheap. I assumed at first, that this was one of those scam printers which lure you in with price, but don't work very well and charge a wad for replacement ink. Not so! Within the realm of cheap inkjet printers, the output is plenty adequate.
Summary: When my old HP inkjet ran out of ink yet again I decided to look for a printer that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg to replace the ink. After weeks of looking I chose the Brother MFCJ265w All-in-One inkjet with fax and wireless networking. I wasn't really looking for a WiFi printer but for the price it was an added bonus. Set up was simple... just popped in the installation CD and it was connected to my network in no time.
Summary: Forget the included CD. Get the latest driver package on the Brother website. Download the package but don't install it on your computer until you get the printer synced with your router: 1) Plug in and turn on printer. 2) Load some paper, load each ink cartridge and wait for the 4 minute cleaning process. 3) Press Menu-Network-enable WLAN. 4) Press Menu-Network-Setup Wizard and it will find your router, then you enter your network key/password to complete the sync.
Summary: This is my first printer by Brother. (Previously I used HP printers.) I like having 4 separate ink colors. This way, when I print black it is not draining the color ink cartridges. And most of my printing is black. This brother printer has its own internal computer control for many things. I especially like the fact that aftermarket ink cartridges for Brother printers are inexpensive. Basically I like this MFCJ265W printer.
Summary: I purchased my Brother printer about a month ago and since that time have used it almost every day. It was very simple to set up on my home wireless system and the controls are very easy to understand. So far, I have used it mostly for document printing. However, I have used the scanner and the copier several times and have had no problems and the quality has been good. I have not attempted to print a photo.
Summary: Purchased this printer for $59.95. Ink Refills (Non OEM) are the lowest around. Works great, just the way it should. And with the super low ink cost, This printer will pay for itself in no time. Highly recommended.
Summary: I am a Mac user, so this review will only be for Mac environment. 1) Installation - super easy. One hooked up, with ink installed, the machine runs a setup cleaning cycle for about 5 minutes. After that I simply used the on screen display to login to my Wifi, and the "printer" was instantly available to all Macs on the network. Mac OSX will automatically pop-up a dialog and start downloading the latest driver, didn't need the bundled CD.
