DRUM PROBLEMS

specklesthedog, Office Depot
10 October 2013
  • Excerpt: I have used this printer for 1.5 years. I have to constantly clean the drum because of "spots" when printing for the last year. Requires WAY TOO MUCH cleaning time, and spots are almost impossible to get rid of. It now says I need to replace the drum unit.
  • Cons: Performance, drum unit needs cleaning constantly, drum unit needs replacing

Jams every time we try to duplex

WhiteOak, Staples
28 May 2013
  • Excerpt: We bought this to replace a Brother printer we had that was FANTASTIC. This one---not so much. Upon opening, we thought trays, etc., seemed flimsier than our previous printer. Now, just after a year of use (and out of warranty), it jams every single time we try to duplex a document.
  • Cons: Short Cartridge Life

Who's Buying YOUR cartidges!!

lizzylizzard, Staples
17 March 2013
  • Excerpt: From the minute this 50-60 lb. gargantuan arrived, it was too late to return it. I'm ecologically-minded, so I converted the box it came in, into a small storage shed for my garage. There was no choice.
  • Pros: Costlyneeds Support, Crisp, Dries Quickly, Fast, Numerous Options, Sharp Tones & Colors
  • Cons: Short Cartridge Life

Good price for a machine with terrible toner issues

Considerate_Buyer, Amazon
3 October 2012
  • Summary: Among the many buyers lured to this machine for its attractive price-performance ratio, I have come to regret buying this junk for the awful toner issues and service level: a) constant leakages with toner dust b) ridiculous "cartridge sensor" technology not allowing to reinsert half-full cartridges...

Sucks ...at least for how i'm using this

Max Powers, Amazon
23 January 2012
  • Summary: This may work for you if you are ok with: 1. Not using it as a scanner: incapable of scanning smaller pieces of paper (like checks) through the adf. I do this frequently, so it turns into a major hassle having to scan several pieces one by one and then "assemble" these pieces into one file via Adobe...

Very expensive compared to a cheap inkje

Jake, Staples
25 July 2011
  • Excerpt: I bought this printer to speed up our printing of manuals. It is faster than an inkjet, but you'll pay for it! I printed two times the amount I printed on this printer for 1/6 of the cost! In no time at all I spent $900 dollars in toner.
  • Pros: Great Print Quality
