Excerpt: We purchased this machine less than 6 months ago, we have had multiple problems with it. Brother sent a technician out to change a board within the 1st month of having the machine. Now it is making a grinding noise and have had to call support, all they want us to do is keep troubleshooting here instead of sending a technician. Also the maintenance parts on this machine need to be changed often and are of course expensive.
Excerpt: I had a Brother one-in-all for years before it fell apart. I have replaced it with this one and it is just as good. It is a great all-in-one for a small office. I have always found Brother products to be nice and reliable and this unit is no exception. The only complaint I have is that my previous Brother all-in-one could printer smaller paper from the feeder and this one cannot.
Excerpt: We bought this over an HP because it was on sale. It is compact but pretty loud. User friendly however our IT guy had a hard time connecting to our router. We had to call tech support to figure it out but even with that the set up was easy enough. The color does not print crisp, almost splotchy. Love the email feature and the auto duplex! It would be great if the paper tray held more. We want to print from our phones and have not figured it out yet.
Excerpt: Quality printing, fast, and trouble free. We purchased one of these printers over one year ago. The features are excellent and the maintenance is practical. We recently purchased two more and are quite happy with them. I called technical support to inquire on software compatibility with Windows 8. The representative was quite attentive and willing to provide the required technical support. This printer is an excellent deal for its price and collective features.
Pros: Clean Replacement, Dries Quickly, Easy to Replace, Long Cartridge Life, Long Lasting Color, Sharp Tones & Colors
Summary: I used NEC laser printers when they first came out 20+ years ago, then went to Inkjet, I didn't like inkjet because if you don't use them all the time they clog and the quality goes way down, they also chew up a lot of ink. I bought this laser about 2 years ago and it will use toner, but it never clogs and the quality stay very high for a color laser. If your looking for super quality photo, I'd recommend going to a drug store.
Pros: ease of operation ease of setup good multi funtionality never clogs does everything you can ask four separate toner cartidges clear printing high res scanning embedded duplex scanning and printing
Excerpt: The printer did not work out of the box -- the "paper jam" indication was continuous. Brother would not replace the printer even though it was never operable. They sent a repairman who worked for four hours replacing internal parts on the printer. As a result I was without a printer for two days. Since then the printer has been working, but I cannot recommend purchasing a printer that a manufacturer who will not promptly replace when it is defective on arrival.
Cons: Quality, manufacturer will not replace defective printers
Excerpt: We purchased two of these printers from Staples and have nothing but problems with these printers. We have sent one printer in under RMA and received another that didnt work either. Do not buy these printers. It is not worth the frustration and cost. Things that dont work Scan to PC (stays connected for about 10 min and then name drops off list) eFax from a computer did not work and ran out of memory after 5 pages Drums went out on both machines after about 6 months of...
Pros: Easy to Replace, Sharp Tones & Colors
Cons: Efax Does Not Work, Scan To Pc Not Work, Too Expensive
Summary: When the time came to replace our office multi-function printer, copier and scanner we knew it would be another Brother unit. What we were not expecting was the faster printing, faster response for the first print and the improved quality of the color print. Very happy with our decision and looking forward to many years of dependable service.
Excerpt: I have always liked Brother products and this is no exception. The only negative so far has been that the paper goes in upside down and facing forward. This is only a problem when you are printing checks in a larger quantitiy. It takes them out of sequence unless you count your pages of checks and put them in reverse order in the feeder before printing them. The last all-in-one printer I had, you were to put the checks face up and then they printed in sequence.
Pros: Doesn't Jam, Good Value, Easy to Use, Fast, Quality, Easy to Set Up, Performance
