a bit noisy and quirky, but excellent value and quality

Summary: The software install is lengthy and fails easily, but once that is taken care of, the system operates quite well. The printing is quite good, slow duplexing but tolerable and nice-looking output. The fax and scan features get about an 8/10 compared to HP, but then a lot of HP printers are not even getting a 10 from me lately.
Summary: The Brother MFC-9460CDN is a great all around printer. Great speed and flexible. Make sure you read the manual to figure out how to do double-sided copying. It can be done, but it's not intuitive. Other than that, it's a great printer.
Summary: Works great for copying, faxing, printing basics. My only complaint is I can't load and print my business check without it jamming. I have to keep a separate cheap printer on hand just for that. Love all other functions though.

Summary: I bought this unit to serve my needs at home. I use my computer for all my personal finance and needed a laser for printing checks that won't run in the rain. I also have two young sons, so I wanted to upgrade to color for printing photos and for their school and scout projects. I chose this unit for it's price and wired network capability. Due to a lack of proper cabling (my fault I didn't check the length of the cables I had), I had to hook it up via USB first.
