Summary: The positives - EXCELLENT printing quality!!! Ink is actually reasonable. The cartridges are laser and color, so they're not the cheapest, but compared to other printers which tend to be cheap in price, but can nickel and dime you with ink prices, the Brother MFC9450CDN is a fantastic machine!
Summary: I've had this printer now for about 2.5 years. I have been very happy with the network capability of the machine. I use it in a small home office where we print a variety of documents both BW and color. Overall the printer has been very reliable, faxing, scanning, and copying is a breeze.
Summary: This multi-function printer is a bargain. Easy to setup and use, nice print quality, etc. make this printer comparable to other much higher priced units. The toner is fairly priced as well which means the price per copy will be very reasonable...
Summary: I'm a Realtor, and purchased this item primarily to print color flyers of my listed properties. The results are outstanding ... didn't even have to deviate from the default settings. Colors are sharp, crisp and vibrant. The better quality paper is not an issue at all (I use 24 lb. matte finish, and the machine handles it beautifully). I particularly like the duplex feature ... printing two sides simultaneously is a huge time-saver.
Summary: Set up was easy ... instructional manual walks you through step by step. Color looks great! Black and white printing is great. Slow print on first page, but zooms after warm up. The fax portion is a little more difficult to get set. (It likes answering before it's supposed to.) User friendly. Heavy machine, but seems sturdy and so far, I haven't had a single problem with the machine.
Nice size and value for color auto-duplex laser printing

Summary: I would give this printer 4.5 stars if I had the option. After one day of ownership my only complaints are that the front door for manual feed is flimsy and the compressed software expanded to a random location in the OS: Windows/System32/mflpro/Setup9450CDN/Eng/setup.exe I also wish that the paper output closer to the front; I feel like I am pulling the paper out before it's printed because it's so deep into the machine.
