Summary: This is the WORST MFC we have purchased for our office! We are constantly replacing toner, when it is still very full! Don't try to tell me out-of-date toner can somehow damage the machine. We put black toner in less than a month ago, and now we have to replace the FULL cartridge AGAIN. You can't keep a backstock of toner because by the time you put it in, it is close to it's expiration date.
Summary: The positives - EXCELLENT printing quality!!! Ink is actually reasonable. The cartridges are laser and color, so they're not the cheapest, but compared to other printers which tend to be cheap in price, but can nickel and dime you with ink prices, the Brother MFC9450CDN is a fantastic machine!
Summary: I've had this printer now for about 2.5 years. I have been very happy with the network capability of the machine. I use it in a small home office where we print a variety of documents both BW and color. Overall the printer has been very reliable, faxing, scanning, and copying is a breeze.
Summary: I had an HP printer for 10 years and never had any problems with it. It eventually died on me, and it was suggested to me to purchase this 3 in 1 printer. What a disaster! The first one I bought was so bad that eventually the company had to admit it was a lemon and they replaced it for me. (This was after only a few months of use.
Summary: Duplex printing is much slower than I expected. I knew it wouldn't be as fast as single sided but it is much slower. Also thought it shipped with all four high yield toners but that does not seem to be the case as the cyan ran out right after the black and I didn't very little color printing. Over all a good printer but but I thought it would be faster based on the rated speed and have more toner out of the box.
Summary: Overall this printer works well, except that we have had spots on the page from day one. At Brother's suggestion we changed to a new toner and the problem seemed to go away. The spots then returned. Brother has concluded that it is the drum unit at fault (after 4 months of light usage), but they will not replace it because we admitted to them to having put non-Brother toner through it once!
Summary: This multi-function printer is a bargain. Easy to setup and use, nice print quality, etc. make this printer comparable to other much higher priced units. The toner is fairly priced as well which means the price per copy will be very reasonable...
Summary: I am very pleased with the value of this machine. The print quality is very nice and it is extremely user friendly. We have the printer networked between three offices and it is working glitch free. The only down side I have found so far is that the paper placement is different in the two trays; (I have wasted a few envelopes and letterhead). Anyway, I believe this has been a very good purchase for us.
Summary: I have used many many printers in my career and this one is by far the worst ever. The paper curls so bad that you can stand it on its side. The color is washed out and grainy the the reds appear brown. It is slow and the warm up speed takes forever. I went back to an inkjet and now am stuck with a tremendously heavy paperweight.
