"Good copy quality but didn't last long."

burrahobbitt, CNET
25 August 2010
  • Pros: Good copy and print quality.
  • Cons: Expensive expendables belt and drums dead at 27k prints. I have a total of 16 brother machines in the office. The 6 year old ones are still working The new ones 9440's dead at under 50k. The second one at 27k. No more Brotherly love in my offices.

  • Pros: when the machine works- the quality of the printing is excellent
  • Cons: Brother's customer service and standing behind their product leave a lot to be desired. They do not stand behind their product but hide behind their warranty-

"Great printer - Very expensive to maintain"

mr_davec, CNET
30 March 2009
  • Pros: Excellent print quality, handle multi page faxes, wireless network connection. I use this in a small office environment w/3 people connected to it.
  • Cons: The laser cartridges are roughly $125 each but the kicker is the OPC Belt usually has to be replaced once per year and this cost $300. This is 1/2 the cost of the machine once a year.

"Terrible Customer Service"

jdm55, CNET
29 January 2009
  • Pros: Easy to use after setup is complete, very fast printing
  • Cons: High yield ink will not come close to the amount that it states, resulting in poor quality colour printing shortly after changing toner cartridges - expensive in the long-run
