Very happy with my Brother

Eric Troutman, Amazon
5 November 2009
  • Summary: I hope P.H. Sherrod, above, will forgive me it I "ditto" that excellent review, with the following slight differences/additions: The unit is pretty large and heavy, but if you are a healthy male you can probably set it up yourself.

Very nice color laser printer - solid, fast, heavy duty

P. H. Sherrod, Amazon
5 November 2009
  • Summary: I am very pleased with my Brother MFC-9440CN. Here are some positive and negative points: -- Positive -- It is very easy to set up. I have it configured for access through Ethernet, and it was far easer to get set up than other network printers I've installed.

I own one: CAUTION it uses up color toner during black printing, very expensive!

I care about quality, Amazon
5 November 2009
  • Summary: You read the title right. Tech support assures me it uses up color toner even during black printing. I have tons of black toner and rarely use color but I can't even print black right now until I pay brother $XXX (edit: price removed after a while as toner prices have been dropping) for new COLOR...

Nice Machine, Horrible Customer Service

Harrison S. Reed IV, Amazon
5 November 2009
  • Summary: Sorry this is long review. This machine has some great features. It has a low price point for a color laser printer. It has your basic all-in-one features that us small business owners like: fax, print, copy, scan.

It just works

Amazon Customer, Amazon
5 November 2009
  • Summary: Brother is the only printer manufacturer who actually meets their speed claims. This is a workhorse of a printer/fax/scanner. Also, the software is minimalistic but does everything you need (I have it on OS X). Lets see, fast printing, fast scanning, fast copying. Great looking output.

Good high performance, terrible documentation

G. Barnes, Amazon
5 November 2009
  • Summary: The Brother multi-function works well in all areas, once you get through the set up. PRINTING. I have given it heavy print loads (50-100 page documents) and it cranks the pages out quickly. Good reasonable capacity paper tray. Excellent quality on high capacity. FAX: Fax works well, but caution.

Frustrating to use!! Read before you buy!

Paul, Amazon
5 November 2009
  • Summary: The specs on this machine are fine. The price is reasonable. The print quality is fine. I have loved 2 previous Brother Multi-function machines that I have owned. However, if I could go back, I WOULD NOT BUY THIS UNIT AGAIN. Two reasons: 1. VERY slow to warm up from sleep mode.

Horrible

Amazon Customer, Amazon
5 November 2009
  • Summary: This is the worst printer ever. It will seem ok when you first get it, then it will virtually fall apart piece by piece once you've had it for about 6 months. The tonor leaks and powder gets everywhere, you constantly deal with jams, all in all a very, very, very bad deal.

Great Printer for small business

Amazon Customer, Amazon
5 November 2009
  • Summary: I thought I would need tech assistance to set this up, since it was so large, heavy and was complicated to get unpacked. Actually, I just zipped right through the set up once I had it on the stand.

Brother 9440CN review

Robert Lukey Sr, Amazon
5 November 2009
  • Summary: Although it eventually arrived we had to empty the toner collection compartment before we could print so much as a test page. The unit itself is otherwise functional. Unlike a brand new unit it arrived with no toner cartridges and the cartridge holder was not properly secured for transportation.
