Summary: The printer is great for faxing, basic printing, copying and scanning. The only problem is that the colors don't print true. At first I thought it was the printer settings or something I did, but I've gone so far as to have someone actually come out and "fix" the settings and it did nothing. So if you need this for printing flyers, photos or anything that requires high-quality color printing, stay away.
Summary: Brother is very reliable -- I had an earlier model, but got this one because it faxes, in addition to all the other functions. It's very simple to use, and I chose the laser instead of the inkjet because the plain-paper colors ran if wetted, on an HP that I had before. That doesn't happen with the laser. Replacement cartridges change easily, but be careful if you buy a non-Brother one, as some cheaper ones don't do as good a job as the originals.
Summary: This printer was easy to set up and printed without much issue. After it went to sleep for the first time, it couldn't connect to the wifi again without disabling the network and re-entering everything. After that it worked fine. Haven't scanned or faxed yet.
Summary: Brother really hit the mark with this printer/scanner for the small home office. I purchased this to replace a 2 year old Cannon ink jet printer/scanner that failed to live up to my expectations. This is my first Brother product and also first laser jet printer and I think it is well worth the cost. I have seen other Brother products work well in other office settings and traditionally they have a history of good quality and reliability.
Summary: I bought this printer about two months ago. I am very happy with my purchase. I use it in my home office, the whole family can print to it (and does). Setup was easy, I used the provided software and set it up for wireless networking and everything works great. I'm very happy with the print speed, print quality, and ease of use via the main control panel on the machine. I can print to it from my iPhone!!
Summary: I haven't owned this product for long so I can't comment on its longevity or cartridge life-span so far. However, for the price this was a very good deal. Pro: My home office is not very large so I needed a printer that didn't take up too much space. This is the size of a regular ink printer-fax-scanner but is color laser which was a big bonus for me. The quality of the printing seem to be good so far. I haven't had any jamming. (Line) Setup was very easy.
Summary: From the unpacking to the setting up, the machine is extremely user-friendly. The only part that took me a little more than 2 minutes was setting up the wireless, once done it the machine is the new toy in the house. Also, Brothers has an app for mobile devices so you can print from it. Download it, it works nicely!
