S. D. Pattison, Amazon
22 March 2014
  • Summary: The print quality is fairly good, but at about six months of age, it started making a huge sound when printing.

Easy installation, good for a network situation

Phacetious Plebbe "Phacetious", Amazon
19 December 2013
  • Summary: I did not purchase this item, but it is present in my office and I decided to test it out. I am all Mac in my office and I decided to connect it to my AirPort Express Base Station for proper installation. I am presently using Mavericks (10.9.1), so the Suite that came on the CD was no longer good. I merely downloaded the suite from Brother's website, and then went to my System Preferences.

  • Summary: Printer works great and I haven't had to add toner yet. Just remember it's a big machine. I wish I would have gotten this machine years ago.

Great home color printer

R. A. Gross, Amazon
17 August 2013
  • Summary: I got this for home, as I always find I need to copy or scan something. While I have a printer, it is only black and white. So, far this works great. Best thing, it is easy to set-up.

Default Network Settings Abysmal

Christopher Rowan, Amazon
16 July 2013
  • Summary: Prints and scans great just like every other Brother product I've owned. Trouble is, the latest version of the driver software that's installed by default constantly loses track of the printer. Forget the defaults and connect to the printer directly via the printer's IP (like older Brother software). Brother loses TONS of points for no longer being plug and play.

No comparison to an HP

T. Jones "The Tool Man", Amazon
14 July 2013
  • Summary: I had an HP, but the cartridges were very expensive so I bought this printer. I make my own business cards and DVD covers with pictures on them. The picture quality is not nearly as good on this Brother as it was with my HP, but otherwise it works well.

So Far, So Good

NJM, Amazon
10 May 2013
  • Summary: I purchased this about 30 days ago, the printer arrived when they said it would, it was packaged very well, no problems there, I have been using it for 30 and so far I'm very happy with the printer. My only complaint is the secondary paper feed, just above the main paper tray jams when I try to print two sided, because the paper curls just a little after first side is printed, it doesn't go through, it says "Jam".

Good all-in-one for the price

jonamurphy, Ebay
7 May 2013
  • Summary: So far, it's been a great all-in-one for the price. Scan quality isn't as good as I had hoped (even at 300 or 600 dpi) and the auto-feeder scans crooked. Network setup, including FTP drop-box was quick and easy. My only other complaint is that the toner cartridges are fairly small, so this unit is better suited for a home office than a workgroup printer.
