Summary: If you do not have the correct USB cable "BUY IT" you will need this cable to make life very easy in setting this up on your wireless network. Without the cable "GOOD LUCK"!! I like the speed of duplexing (scans top and bottom on one pass) also the 550 sheet feeder upgradeable to 1000 sheets and the 12,000.00 page toner. The color touch screen menu display is a big plus!! NEVER EVER BUY ANY TONER OTHER THAN BROTHER OR YOU WILL HAVE MAJOR PROBLEMS IN THE FUTURE.
Excerpt: Do not buy this machine. Every 4-5 months you will have to replace the drum and it is $150. Plus everytime the drum went out I had to replace the fuser also. Both times it was under warranty so I didn't have to pay for the service but now it is out of warranty and if it happens again it will be at least a $200+ repair (the part costs that). Brother wants you to buy this so they can make a lot more money off you buying the drum that goes out at 30000 pages.
Summary: The first thing I tried to configure after connecting to the network and printing / scanning a few test items was getting connected to Google Cloud Print. I tried everything I could think of, but nothing worked. Finally, I called support. After taking all the information I already supplied when registering the product and telling them that "no, I don't want to receive any more product updates" I was connected to the "Tech Support".
Summary: 4.5 stars. Very happy with this printer. I looked at a lot of printers, because I was upgrading for my home office and wanted scanner/copier capability. I looked at color lasers, but wasn't happy with the operational costs. I have an ink-jet that I'll use for the rare times I need color. I've tested the scanner, copier, duplex printing, and wireless setup. All excellent. The copy was a bit dark, but is adjustable. It cranks out print documents pretty quickly.
Summary: Wanted to buy something a little more commercial but economics dictated small business level. So far this multipurpose scanner/printer has met all my expectations. If it performs as well as the small Brother duplexing printer it is replacing it is worth the investment! It interfaces quickly and scans image speedily. Copies are a breeze and the duplexing feature reduces labor, paper and time.
Summary: I have been using Brother Printers and MFCs for over 6 years now and I love them. I would say they are very high value compared to say HP with is more costly in the long run. I have used this MFC for all of its features including scanning larger multi sheet documents to PDF. Once you setup the Brother Control Center software you can configure it easily to sca to PDF and it works great. Fax, copy, print - all work well.

Summary: I actually love these printers BUT - I have had one go bad just after one year's use. It would have cost over $250 to fix it so I gave up and bought another one. NOW -AFTER TWO MONTHS - the fuser melted and the the roller that presses against that ripped. No problem (you would think) - it is under "warranty". Well try getting warranty from Brother. I spent SEVERAL HOURS on hold trying to get someone to JUST ANSWER THE PHONE.

Summary: Firstly, this is my first Brother printer that I've ever had. I've had three Canon PIXMAs that have all died on me. I had called Canon to let them know about the death of their 3rd printer and they offered me a 25% loyalty discount. I was glad about this but then found out I could only apply this discount to the PIXMA family printers even though I've incurred three deaths of them. Canon would not budge and I had to leave the family.
