Excerpt: Does not seem to as well built as the MFC8480DN I replaced . Top scanning tray is very sensitive to the point that you have to lift the paper up to make sure it takes or it will scan from the single tray.
Summary: After reviewing literature on various scanners, I purchased (Dec 17) the MFC 8910DW primarily to be able to scan documents with multiple pages, with double side printing. I installed the printer and it would not scan. It gave me an "ISO52 error.
Summary: Buying an extra full sized tray adds almost 50% to the price, but a nice feature that most machines do not allow you to do (I still have to figure out how to set it up though - those directions are minimal)
Pros: So many functions in one very reasonably priced machine! No bundled software other than the set up.
Cons: Scanning requires you to make several choices, (is it a picture, OCR, or to be filed) but that allows you to use different applications. You can also scan to a flash drive. I haven't tried the fax yet.
Summary: This printer has great functionality - the scanning works very well, it prints quickly and is easy to use with my husband's Windows 7 laptop. Unfortunately it doesn't print at all with my Windows 8 laptop.
