Great product for a small office

Bookkeeper, Bestbuy
  • Summary: We are a very small manufacturing operation. This replaced a similar unit (different brand).
  • Pros: It does what it is supposed to do, very well, so far.
  • Cons: Nothing, yet.

Not as friendly as the last version

Mike, Staples
5 June 2014
  • Excerpt: I bought this unit to replace a DCP8085 with a bad duplexer. It is a little less user-friendly. Fewer buttons means digging through menus to get the same functions. MFC always defaults to FAX, which I will never use. I wish it could default to COPY. It makes beautiful, duplex copies, though. And prints and scans flawlessly. I wish they would pick one toner cartridge to use for the whole class of printers, so I wouldn't have to buy several spares.

Replaced 8480DN

Deanb, Staples
2 May 2014
  • Excerpt: Does not seem to as well built as the MFC8480DN I replaced . Top scanning tray is very sensitive to the point that you have to lift the paper up to make sure it takes or it will scan from the single tray. It however does seem to scan at a much better quality than the 8480 when being scanned into the computer. The printing does a very nice job. It was a little noisy at first, until we found it has a quiet mode.

  • Summary: I got this piner for home use, had trouble with the wireless setup but worked it out and was up and running with desktop and laptop computers in about three hours, havent tried scan yet or confirmed fax works but prining and copy are fast and sharp. I Have had brother laser in past and this one will work just as well for my type of printing, didn't want to do pictures so laser best choice.

Perfect printer for home use

Abby Davis, Amazon
7 March 2014
  • Summary: After considerable research, I decided to buy this Brother printer. It was easy to set up & very user-friendly. The best features are its ability to print from portable devices (IPad & Iphone) as well as the easy-to-use scanning features!

Easy Air Print.

PJ, Amazon
25 February 2014
  • Summary: I've had this printer for several weeks and really glad I bought it. I replaced an older Brother MFP because I wanted to print wirelessly from my Apple devices. Excellent quality print, fax and scans. Easy set up. I printed off the owners manual which was more helpful than the setup guide. After removing all the packing material, I connected it to my HP laptop docking station by USB.

Excellent upgrade

D. Kenney, Amazon
21 February 2014
  • Summary: Bought this printer as an upgrade to my MFC 8480DN. Smaller footprint, faster print speed and double-sided scanning ability make this a worthwhile upgrade. The only minor caveat is it seems to be a tad noisier than the 8480 when scanning and printing, but it's not that big a difference. Additional features including FAX to email option and a smooth double sided printing saves paper. Getting this one at a sale price makes it even better value.
