Summary: I have had this printer for years and years. It is fast and seldom jams. The few times it has jamed it is b/c I tried to force too much in the manual feed or something. I really love this printer. It is huge, but, I just don't care.
Summary: I have had this machine for over 6 years and it keeps on performing flawlessly. The design is sturdy. The moving parts are designed for easy replacement. It is a high performing, reliable piece of equipment, superior in durability to any of my HP or Canon equivalents.
Summary: I suppose there is little to complain about because this little workhorse has performed flawlessly for years. Recently it shows a "paper jam" error about every two or three pages - and there isn't a paper jam - so beginning to shop for a replacement. Otherwise, this has performed flawlessly.
Summary: This is the BEST printer I have ever had. I am in the tech industry and have used a huge amount of HP lasterjets, Dell laser printers, inkjets, color lasers. This little Brother printer is my workhorse. I have had it for over 3 years and it never breaks down, never jams, never lets me down.
Summary: I read so many good reviews that I wonder if I am the only one that is having trouble with this machine!!? I use it primarily as a copy machine, and inevitably the pages get stuck time after time......
Summary: You can read my original review of this product from June, 2005. Two years later I have replaced one $25 hinge and toner, other than that the unit has functioned very well. It reports it has printed about 12,000 pages and I'm sure I've scanned about the same amount.
Summary: After reading the other reviews I was inspired to write one of my own. This machine has worked flawlessly for me from the beginning. Never a paperjam, no problem with the fax software, full duplex printing and document feeder. Who could ask for more?
Summary: I've had the MFC-8840DN for about 8 months now. I bought it because it packs a lot of features for the price, and the reviews I found were quite good. Overall, it's a decent printer for the price, but it's somewhat unreliable.
Solid Printer for Small Business -- Issues with Scanning Software

Summary: I have had this printer for about 9 months. Previously I used a MFC 9600 for four years. I print approximately 500 - 1000 pages per month. The only reason I bought the new one was the MFC 9600 was not compatible with Windows XP.
