Summary: Don't do it!!!! We purchased this printer because our last Brother was a work horse. However, this machine is a complete piece of garbage. We had immediate trouble with it leaving lines on documents during both printing and scanning. We contacted Brother about the issue and getting a replacement.

I purchased one on 9/30/15, had it replaced under warranty in February of 2016, and now the "factory reconditioned" replacement is bad (1 month later) and they are telling me it is...
Summary: I have used Brother printers for a long time but this one is definitely a LEMON! Have had intermittent 'drum unit' problems since I purchased it and finally replaced the drum unit last month (of course after 1-year warranty is expired). Still had drum unit errors so cleaned the wire periodically.
Summary: I purchased this printer in August of 2015 by December of 2015 (shortly after the one year warranty) with approximately 30,000 prints the fuser went bad. To try and replace the fuser it was $200.00.
Summary: We have used Brother printers in our business for almost 10 years, some of the ones we started with are still working. Not this one! We got a new one under warranty after about 6 months because it was always jamming, now that replacement is dong the same thing!
Summary: I've been a loyal Brother printer customer for years, but this model is awful and Brother doesn't want to honor the warranty. Within 45 days of purchase I started seeing a vertical black line when I scanned docs.
Summary: the copies had a black line. I did a search for the problem, and it said it was either the toner or drum, so I replaced the toner and ordered a new drum and the copies still had the black line.
