Summary: Bought this product specifically for having Airprint capability and having an Ethernet port. Not a fan of wireless printers. My Brother 8860DN is still working, but it's doesn't have Airprint.
Summary: Ironically, I deduct 3 stars not because the multifunction machine is bad, but the tape used to hold all the doors, and copier lid, and feeders closed for shipping proved a nightmare in my case. We've all seen the transparent, blue plastic tape that for shipping purposes holds product parts in place with what seems like static electricity. The tape usually peels off almost effortlessly. The tape on the unit shipped to me had glue on one side.
Summary: It's been a little over a month since I received and set up the Brother 8510DN 1. It prints quickly even after being in sleep mode all night 2. It was very simple to set up and connect to my computer 3. The copy, fax and scanning features are simple, quick and so far excellent quality 4. Compared to the HP pos I had before, it is so quiet (yes it still does make noise as any piece of equipment will) 5. When not in use, this unit is completly quiet 6.
Don't waste your money - loud, ineffective and defective.

Summary: Machine is defective - have only been using a few months and the paper jams incessantly - despite cleaning and changing cartridges constantly. This replaced a printer that ran for 5 years. This didn't even last a few months. A complete waste of money. The back cover does not close completely. Unbelievably loud and not as fast as advertised.
Summary: the printer is fast and has a lot of features. But it doesn't feel solid. however have about 25 of these units in my stores and so far they perform well. I purchased this unit from Amazon LLC and they send me a used/open box not a new one as expected... The idiot that packed this printer couldn't figure out how to put the protective foam back-in correctly.
Best laser multifunction I've owned, and I owned a lot.

Summary: I really like this printer. I've owned Brother printers before (the 2070N had to be the best printer ever made), including multi-function models. Other brands too -- the latest being a Samsung multifunction. I believe this is the best of the bunch. No curling, which seems to always happen with the multifunction printers. Large output tray that does push large documents out onto the floor (another common problem).
Summary: To be honest, this is way more printer than I really need for a home office but I wanted the better quality scanner and the ability to duplex print. Like all Brother multi-function printers I have had---this is the 5th---it installed easily and functions perfectly. None of my other printers were ever replaced because they broke; in every case, I just wanted to upgrade. This printer delivers a beautifully crisp print and it produces an impressive document.
Excerpt: MFC 8510 DN is adequate for a small office, would not serve as the only printer. Monthly reports need to be printed from one of my programs, this printer does not recognize all of the reports and shows an error of "out of paper" when there is plenty of paper in the machine. Tech support stated that my program needed an adjustment not the printer, but that was not true.
