Summary: Purchased the Brother MFC-7840W for $209.99 and well worth the cost. I did not need a color laser printer, so I researched many of the black-and-white multifunction laser printers for my business. I wanted a wireless printer because I did not have the room next to the server to put a printer.
Summary: I have owned a LOT of printers in my office - this one is by far the best: 1. Sets up easily for wireless access so everyone in the house can print without cables. 2. Fax works great 3. When it is done printing, it goes to 'sleep' and is silent 4.
Summary: Like some of the other reviewers, it took me a while to get it set up and "talking" to my other computers on the wireless network. I have one computer on XP and another on Vista and I had to overcome different problems for each one so don't give up.
Summary: I have this Brother multi-function printer connected wirelessly to two Mac desktops and two Mac laptops. It has functioned flawlessly in all modes: copy, print, scan and fax. Setup was a slam dunk. Because I don't scan much I have selected the manual scan option.
Summary: What a Great Multi fuction copier/printer. Our family decided we didn't need a color laser printer. But it does scan in color. Dry toner, no more dried out ink cartridges. Our new linksys/cisco router has a quick setup button and the wireless printer found it with no problem.
Summary: I have zero complaints about this machine. Fast, quiet, well built. Has all the features we wanted: printer, scanner (with multiple document feeder), copier, fax. Works seamlessly with Windows XP, Mac OS X and Linux (all of which are used in my home). Wireless setup was painless.
Summary: Other than some minor difficulty getting the printer to communicate with out wireless network, set-up was a straightforward. Make sure you have the details of your wireless network handy while setting up this printer. Printer quality and speed are great and I highly recommend.
Summary: This is an excellent home office 4-in-1 machine. I have tried fax, scan, and print, all work flawlessly. Before I made the decision to buy, I was concerned that it would not be able to scan multiple pages into one pdf document because no reviews or descriptions cover that feature.
