Excerpt: My husband did all the researching when it came to buying our new printer. I am a bit technologically challenged so I figured I would not use it much - I was wrong - I love it and it is so easy to use! I have no problem making copies, scanning documents, printing pages or even "duplexing". It really does so many things (I'm sure some of which I have not even yet discovered). The Brother MFC-784W All-In-One Laser Printer was also very affordable.
Excerpt: I purchased this product about a year ago. I started a small business and needed the capability to print and fax. I was skeptical at first because the cost was only $79.00 with a rebate. After the purchase I got everything hooked up and read the printer instructions there is so much you can do with this device. I print nice pictures from my digital camera, I am able to scan items and they look like the original-plus when I fax it doesn't tie up other operations.
Excerpt: Before purchasing this printer, my husband and I did a lot of research, reading reviews from consumers and consumer reports/magazines, etc. This printer received rave reviews everywhere (with an occasional angry review) Let me save you some time: this printer is amazing and deserving of the praise it has received. Print quality is clear and professional, even the toner save mode print quality is great.
Excerpt: I replaced my Brother MFC 7420 with this MFC-7840W and am very happy with the upgrade. It does everything I need and is small and quiet in my small office. It has a straight paper passthrough for envelope, which works great. This printer is extremely quick and works well. I love the wireless feature so that I can print from anywhere in the house without plugging my computer in. It works well for double sided printing as well.
Excerpt: The Brother MFC-7840W is a totally awesome printer! My husband bought it on sale, and we have been totally happy with it. This printer is truly multi functional. It has a paper feed on top to load sheets in that you wish to copy, or you can use the copy screen like a standard photo copier. I've successfully photocopied letters, ID, passports, and other important papers, and they come out great. You can adjust the dark/light level depending on what you need.
Excerpt: So I decided to try a Brother printer since the HP all in one I purchased just over a year ago for $600 went bad. I was hopeing the Brother would have better stability and last longer than that. I went with this one because there were a fair amount of good reviews and it was at a great sale price. Overall it has been a fairly good machine, however there are some querks about it I can't stand.
Excerpt: I got this printer a couple of years ago and athough I don't print on a day-to day basis, I have yet to replace the toner/ink. Amazing quality printing and pretty fast as well. You can load the paper individually by feeding it in or from the paper tray. Can program the fax with numbers used frequently, scan documents, and copy. I had a couple of gliches (error message when trying to print..
Great Old Printer; Mac drivers must be reinstalled
28 August 2012
Summary: This printer was retired to home use after serving three years in a small business office. Setting up this old beast was difficult (requiring some tweaking in the antiquated "Brother Control Center" software), though now that it is operational I have no complaints. For scanning on a Mac with the built in "Image Capture" software, you must delete the drivers in order for the application to recognize it. Otherwise you are stuck using the inferior Brother scanning utility.
Summary: Product 4...Customer Service 0: It took me almost a year to get this to work wirelessly because the documentation and support is lacking. Worked fine if it was wired but that was not why I spent such $$$$. Brother failed to admit it was a software issue but after a year and a software upgrade it worked. Wow. It must have been my electrical connection then :) Seller was great! Brother could learn from them.
