Summary: This printer/scanner/copier works great for my home office needs. Easy use, low maintenance. And the cartridge prices for it have gone down in price significantly since I replaced first one! Scanning and uploading old family photos for emailing to family is also fairly 'easy' - once you figure it out ! ha!
Summary: This printer has been a reliable part of my home office for over 5 years. It does everything you need it to do fairly simply. I use the scanning feature most frequently and I am very pleased with how easy it is to store files on my computer. Replacing toner and paper is a snap. There are many Brother MFC releases but this has been the best for me.
Summary: The printer has performed well in several months of use. The copy quality is very nice. The only problem I have encountered is in stopping printing in mid-job. I tried the "Pause" and "Delete" buttons in the Brother software; I tried the Stop button on the printer. Neither solution worked, so I turned off the printer. That was a disaster. I had to extract jammed paper from two locations inside the printer. That process resulted in a dirty roller and streaky copies.
Excerpt: We've owned the Brother MFC-7440N All-in-one laser printer for almost a year now.. We bought it on a bit of a whim when our previous dinky little printer kicked the bucket. I happen to know that alot of printers out there on the market today only come with "sample" ink cartridges that you're lucky if they last a month or so..
Excerpt: The Brother Professional Series Multi Function Center is the perfect machine for those who don't have a ton of space or those who just need one machine that will do it all! This machine prints, faxes, scans, and makes excellent copies all at the touch of a button. I was impressed with the compact size of this machine. For all of the functions this machine has, it should be much larger. The entire system sits on top of my single column file cabinet.
Excerpt: We are a homeschooling famiy. We print LOTS of lessons and worksheets, so much so that we were going through $40 of ink for the inkjet printer we'd owned. It was ridiculous! Another frugal-minded homeschooler told me to go "laser" and I would never regret it. I resisted this because of the initial cost. Lucky me! I found this model on clearance at Office Depot AND used a coupon. So the entire printer plus an additional cartridge cost me aout $250.
With the MFC-7440N, it's effectiveness all in one setting.

Excerpt: Back in the days before personal computers, or rather where one could not afford a personal computer, I relied on Brother's products in order to churn out paperwork for school. Little did I know that Brother made things other than typewriters. I'm proud to own a Brothers Multi-Function Copier.
Excerpt: I had an old HP laser printer and a big Epson scanner next to my printer. Everything worked and still did a decent job, but I needed a new toner cartridge for the printer and that was going to be a healthy chunk of money. Also, I have to make copies of things occasionally and copying with a scanner and printer is possible, but slow and awkward. It's REALLY slow and awkward if you have to copy a multi-page document.
