Summary: Excellent printer, super fast, printouts are sharp and clean. I have owned many printers in the past, but this one is my favorite. I only buy Brother printers cause there are less expensive than HP and they hold up better over time. Toner and drums can be found everywhere and are less expensive than overpriced HP branded ones.
Summary: My husband received this from a friend who no longer used it. It did great for a few months for B&W copies, but suddenly started jamming. Sometimes it will work okay if you adjust the paper in the tray after each copy, but sometimes jams on the first go despite prepping the paper in the tray. The paper is not usable as anything but scratch paper after that so it will have to go.
Excerpt: Excellent scanning resolution. Nice printing quality's. No problems with paper feed. I used to have HP a few years back and those machines were horrible with feeding the paper The only disadvantage: it has a multifeed for copying or scanning, but when scanning several papers it stores it in several files. Or I did not figure out yet how to convert them in one file.

Excerpt: The Brother MFC-7420 all-in-one is a great printer, scanner, and fax machine. I have one in my office, just implored a relative to purchase one, and my business partner has one too. I scan everything and am very pleased with the quality, simplicity, and effectiveness of this Brother machine. The only trouble I've had deals with the fax from PC feature. I had to print my fax, take the paper from the out tray and place it in the in tray. Prints business cards very...
Excerpt: I don't know what I would do without this machine. As A teacher it is an invaluable tool in making my job a lot easier and less stressful. I can send a fax late at night and make those last-minute copies without any problems. The toner cartridge lasts a very long time(three months or more depending on use) and isn't very expensive.
Excerpt: My experience with this printer was terrible. I bought it after having used an HP for several years, because it seemed to be a good deal. It was so new that there were no reviews. I named it "R2D2" because it made so much noise cleaning and calibrating itself at odd times - often when I was taking a phone call, Within the first year warranty period the machine stopped working, and was replaced by Brother. The second machine began to fail within its first year.
Brother MFC-7420 performs all tasks quickly, is cost effective.

Excerpt: Prior to purching the Brother MFC-7420 I used several other printer brands/features. The Brother MFC-7420 prints, makes copies, scans and faxes. Each of the four features are easy to use, producing clean, clear copies. The scan/fax to PC is especially easy to use, though the scanning may take a little more time than some other machines.
Excerpt: A few years ago, my employer gave me $500 to spend on a printer and whatever else I wanted for a home office. I settled on this all in one because I sometimes needed to fax documents and I didn't want a separate fax. I've used this frequently for a few years now, and I've never had a minute of trouble from it. The print quality is good. There is a toner saver feature that seems to work since I don't have to buy toner that often. The scanner works great and has...

Excerpt: I will start with the complaint because I only have one. This printer only prints in black and white. Okay, beside that...Oh my God! This printer is fantastic. It is a three-in-one printer, copier and fax. It worked right out the box. Plug-and-play at it's best. I didn't need to read a manual to figure out how to send a fax. There was no programming necessary for the printer to function. I faxed without even hooking the printer up to my computer.
