  • Summary: Hook up has been difficult to say the least, Could not review the workings at the store prior to purchase didn't help much. No help from Brother Help Desk as they all seem to pint to other issues. There are none! The computer has been checked out 100% and other printers hook up with complete ease. For all the good reviews on this printer I expected much more!

Worst printer I have ever owned

  • Excerpt: We have had this printer for nearly a year. In that time it has stopped printing on the left side of the page twice, requiring that it go in for service. Each time the phone rep made me spend an hour on the phone to troubleshoot the issue, and each time I was walked through a number of steps that had already been tried (cleaning the drum, shaking the FULL toner cartridge, etc.) before they finally admitted that it needed to go in for service.

Disappointed

  • Excerpt: I would like to say that I found this item worth the money spent on it, but I am not so sure yet. the problem is, I purchased this printer at the closest Staples (60 miles away), and had it sitting in my bedroom for a month, until we needed to unpack it for it's intended purpose as a copier for my wife's teaching lessons. When I opened the box, I found inside a very used printer that was dirty and scratched up, out of the original packing.

  • Excerpt: It doesn't matter how great the all-in -one is - if I have to strain to see in the detail box, it isn't of any use to me. In the store, you could see it perfectly. We tried two units.

One Hour To Send a Four Page FAX Because Brother Demands You Replace Ink $$$ When They Say

  • Summary: I just spent an hour trying to send a FAX all because Brother thought it would be funny to not allow you to send a FAX, even though that uses no ink, because Brother decided if their machine says the toner is low, even though it is still printing pages just fine, to shut down all functions of the machine. I had to replace the toner despite the fact that it really was not out of ink so that this rotten machine would then SEND a FAX which requires no ink whatsoever!

Brother Customer Service is horrible.

  • Summary: Brother Customer Service is horrible. The WILL NOT help you if you don't use their toner and drum cartridges. So, if you don't overpay for your toner and drums, then if you have any issue they will not talk to you further. If you do get one of these, save your original toner and drum so you can tell the customer service rep the serial number of those components or they shut you down.

I never received them so I returned the printer to Walmart (did not have trouble returning the printer).
