One Hour To Send a Four Page FAX Because Brother Demands You Replace Ink $$$ When They Say
9 December 2013
Summary: I just spent an hour trying to send a FAX all because Brother thought it would be funny to not allow you to send a FAX, even though that uses no ink, because Brother decided if their machine says the toner is low, even though it is still printing pages just fine, to shut down all functions of the...
low toner . constant obnoxious warnings, screws up scanner operation

Summary: Printer/copier/scanner works OK when the toner is full. But when the toner gets low the network software gives you annoying chirps and a reminder dialog every 5 minutes or so. That wouldn't be so bad except it seems to be disrupting scanning.
Summary: It stopped working within 6 months. Even though toner was placed in the machine (and I tried multiple ones) an error said there was no toner. I confirmed that the toner worked by trying it on another brother printer I had that accepted the same one, so I know there is something wrong with this...
Summary: Beware of firmware/software interface. Software can repair itself, but if firmware broken inside the printer, printer is no better than a glorified door-stopper. This interface usually goes bad AFTER the 90-day or whatever return policy and Brother charges too much to replace the part.
Brother cheats its customers by fleecing them on toner cartridges
9 April 2012
Summary: Like other reviewers, I am disgusted by a company that makes a printer that STOPS PRINTING after low toner messages start to appear, and these messages appear very early in the life of the cartridge. I bought the printer 8 months ago. We use it very sparingly, maybe a few sheets per week.
Love the engineering, HATE the toner and paternalism

Summary: Updated Review: I won't buy another Brother printer if I can help it. Again, the engineering is great, but I've just snapped about the toner. It tells me it won't print any more pages until I change the toner. The last pages coming out are flawless.
Summary: Brother Customer Service is horrible. The WILL NOT help you if you don't use their toner and drum cartridges. So, if you don't overpay for your toner and drums, then if you have any issue they will not talk to you further.
Summary: This is my second Brother copy machine. I don't have problem with the first one, though it showed " paprer Jam" but actually there's no parper in it. I bought this new one in mid of August. Only few days, it already showed " toner Low" . I didn't really care about it.
Summary: This is the a lousy product. I have had this for over a year and disliked it after two weeks. It does a poor job of its primary function, printing. The toner cartriage is a money maker for Brother. I did not get through a full paper tray before getting a message to change the cartriage.
