Summary: I've had this printer for about 3 years. The best thing about this printer is, the ink lasts a really long time. Granted, the toner cartridges are expensive--about $75, which is more than a lot of new printers cost. But for my level of use, the ink in a cheapo printer's cartridge will last maybe a month, and then you'll find out their ink cartridges cost $40. These cartridges last me about 15 months, and the print quality is fine for documents.
Summary: This printer does what I need - occasional scans and prints. I am still on the original toner. It was a cheap multi-function, it does everything I need, and I never get the annoying "purge cartridge" message I used to get on my HP printers before I went to laser. I bought it for a $100 or $120, I would never pay the current asking price though.
Summary: I spent several hundred dollars on ink cartridges for my inkjet printer before ordering this printer! I ordered this printer and as soon as I recieved it I hooked it up and the poor thing has not slowed down since. Very fast printing and not loud like I have read on previous reviews. Overall VERY satisfied with this printer and all of its other functions.
Summary: I have two BROTHER MFC 7340,one in the office that gets a heck of alot of traffic (200 incoming faxes a day 150 out going faxes,25 printing actions and 50 copies a day)NEVER has a problem it is smooth and reliable LOVE IT.The second one (exact same make model and year)is kept at home does nothing (15 faxes a month 2 copies 0 print jobs a month)and it is always breaking down, now it wont take paper from the feeder.GO FIGURE!
Summary: I've had two of these printers but will probably not buy one again. They work hard and are perfect for my small one-person business EXCEPT, the older they get the "hotter" they run. I print a lot of checks, and when I order new checks I have to have them printed differently so the ink they use won't "bleed" or "ghost", and still I get quite a bit of that. Also, I tried to print some window envelopes today and it melted the little plastic window.
Summary: Bought this printer about a month ago for our vet clinic and have been converted to the Brother printers. We have printed somewhere between 500-700 pages so far and have had no problems. Its quick and responsive, hardly have to wait for it to warm up. In the mean time, I bought a Lexmark all in one for my desk and 2 weeks after I bought it, it needed a new print head for it. It was covered by warranty and they were very good to fix it, but it was a hassle.
