Summary: I bought this machine 14 months ago, and have had nothing but trouble with it. First of all, the software did not work well, and I had to uninstall and reinstall several times. It would print and fax but not scan. Finally got that fixed, but then I kept getting the message that I needed to disconnect the cord between the machine and the computer for the printer function to work off the computer.
Summary: This is a small footprint machine that serves many purposes. Works great as a networked printer/Scanner using a USB 2.0 print server. Can be hooked up to a phone line to receive and send FAX's. Print quality is excellent.

Summary: I liked this printer since I had the last one, the Brother 7220, for about 7 years. It worked wonderfully for a long time, then slowly left the planet. I was very happy that Brother made an older brother version of the 7220, and this is it. Very happy with it, love to have a phone on my printer.
Excerpt: Can't install it without buying cables: USB 2.0 or 3.0 A to B. Frustrating as they only provide fax cables and the manual only talks about the fax feature. This is a fax machine that you can also use as a printer or scanner. Very annoying and Brother was not helpful at all in providing the cable. The USB cable costs $5 and Brother is too cheap to include it. Just very annoying and the items seems cheaply made when you look at it.
