Summary: Issues with WLAN connections occurred regularly. I used WPA, WPA2, WEP . . . in all cases, connections were intermittent. After going through tech support, it was resolved by resetting the factory network settings and starting over. I noticed that this has to be done after each power outage in this case. Large paper drawer and feed poorly designed - jammed regularly, thus eventually stopped using it altogether. After calling tech support, unable to resolve.
Summary: I intended to use the Brother MFC-6890CDW professional to replace a HP 7310xi. The Brother was selected over the HP 8500A Pro Plus because of the 11x17 print and scan capability. However there were problems right out of the box. 1. Set up was relatively easy, but 27 years of computer engineering may have helped. So, you may have to call on your own computer knowledge, skills and abilities to get device to work correctly.
Summary: If you need accurate colors in your scanning and printing then this all-in-one is not for you. Even after spending quite a lot of time on Photo Shop to make color corrections, the printing colors were dull and inaccurate. We were using this machine to scan and print graphic novel artwork that uses Prismacolor markers and pencils and the colors are very important to the work. When Captain America is wearing purple instead of blue, it's a problem.
