Summary: I purchased one of these units and it lasted 13 months! Brother exchanged it under a two year warranty with a REFURBISHED UNIT. It seems that they are aware that this unit has yellow ink print issues. They REFUSED to exchange it for a different model and stated that this part number is under a "special warranty". At first, their operator lied and said the unit was out of warranty. Until I sent her a cut & paste of their warranty. I do not suggest buying this unit!!
Summary: So far, so good with this printer. The only thing that I have not set up yet is the option to scan multiple pages at the same time. The after-market ink cartridges are VERY affordable in comparison to some others.
Summary: Ok, so I am a small business owner who has been using HP multi-function color printers for more than 10 years. Why? Because of their reputation for quality. The last HP multi-function color printer finally forced me to look elsewhere for our color business printing, copying, and faxing needs. The HP family of printers are great. The quality of the printouts is very good BUT the cost of the ink was really a drawback.
Summary: bought this after a competitor's died an ugly death while trying to extricate a jammed sheet of paper. Setup was quick and easy on our mac and scanning integration straight to an email attachment over wi-fi was done without me even realizing it. good quality prints too.
Summary: Bought two of these (one through Amazon). Worked great when it worked. Then it after refilling the paper, it just stopped working.....before the initial ink cartridges were even dry. As best as I can tell one clear ribbon, or the like, as flimzier then a baseball card popped its itsy bitsy clip, and whamo, no more printer. Checking now to see if I can bring it in to a local repair shop, but it turning out to be a real pain.
Summary: I needed a MF printer/scanner/copier for my home office and kids school projects. My biggest beef with HP, Canon, etc. is their high priced ink. Refilling has never worked well for me and I just didn't want to hassle with it. The Brother delivers low cost MFC, low cost ink, wireless was easy set up, updates are easy, print outs are excellent and fast enough for my low level volume. Kids are able to print while doing their school projects on laptops throughout the house.
Summary: The setup went pretty well on this, I hooked it up with WiFi through the router. Quality is pretty good, hope the cartridges last longer than my previous HP printer, I bought this due to the lower cost of ink. One thing it didn't do, on my setup with the WiFi, it didn't recognize the router password automatically, I had to manually enter it.
Summary: This is a large printer. It was an easy 30 minute setup to unpack, connect it to my wireless network, load the ink cartridges and paper. Then 5 minutes each to install the drivers (on my windows XP pcs and one Mac), and everything was able to print first try. Print quality for text is good, for pictures just okay. I won't use this to print out images much so that's okay for me. Menu is easy to figure out how to copy, scan, etc.
