Summary: I LOVE this series of printers/fax machines! One huge reason is because the ink is SUPER WAY CHEEP!!!! Believe it or not, you can get 4 black and 2 of each of the color cartridges for LESS than $10.00 AND the cartridges last quite some time to boot!
Summary: Good printer. To make the printer print if an ink cartridge is empty use a black marker or some electric tape to cover the window on the ink cartridge. The printer uses light directed through the cartridge window to see the ink cartridge is empty.

Summary: I needed the ability to print wirelessly because my USB ports all went to sleep on my laptop, and since my Brother MFC-240C has been such a fantastic machine for several years, I decided to stay with this design and buy this new MFC-490CW which also allows me to realize great savings on ink...
Summary: I have had a truly fantastic experience with this printer, which I have owned for I believe 3+ years and it is still going strong. I would also like to say that I have found Brother technical support to be very helpful as well - very easy to reach, pretty knowledgeable, kind, and helpful.
Summary: My girlfriend has this printer (over a year). I love it better than my epson (NX415) - only because of cartridge "recognition" issues - very frustrating. Print quality about the same. this is a great printer, copier and its wireless.

Summary: There is always that worry, when looking around for the best deal, of getting what you pay for. Thankfully a lower price point doesn't always equate with an inferior product. This all-in-one printer/fax machine/copier/scanner is a bargain for the price. That it is wireless is icing on a great cake.
Summary: After having several HP printers came and went and over paying for print cartridges, I gave this one a try at the recommendation of a friend, and I am glad I did! Beats the heck outa HP hands down. Set-up was a breeze (mac user), only took several minutes.
