Excerpt: This compact, sleek all-on-one printer is very affordable. It scans, copies, faxes and prints at a touch of a button. It is user frinedly and can be tucked out of site since it is wireless. However, the down side to this printer is that it will not print at all when one iink cartridge is low--that means any of the three color cartrideges as well making this an expesnive printer if you planon using it often. Horrible Print Quality, Good Luck Installing When You Get a New Computer
20 January 2012
Summary: I now know why HP ink is so expensive - because the print quality is 100 times better than this Brother printer. If you only need to print black and white documents, this device is fine. However, unless you want dingy photos and color documents with no vibrancy, this is the wrong device to buy. Also, if you ever get a new computer and have to get this device working again - best of luck to you. The Brother CD does not work for Windows 7.
Summary: Ink heads are not cleanable and cannot be serviced without breaking the machine. Once the print quality starts to degrade, this becomes a recycled electronic product. Not worth the money for the lack of longevity.
Summary: We've had this printer for about 10 months. Here are our thoughts: Pros - When all goes well, this printer works quickly and well. Copy and scan functions were both handy and easy to use. We printed with many different paper sizes and stocks, including nice invitations, and the printer did a good job. - It's great to print from your couch directly to your printer through the wireless interface. So easy if you have multiple computers!
Summary: I bought this for the wireless networking aspect, but it is not implemented well. Every time I used it, I had to spend 30 minutes troubleshooting and trying to get my laptop to connect properly. Once it was connected, it generally works well. But get something else if you want seamless wireless printing.
Summary: Initial Points: 1. I am a graphic designer, so I know how to use a printer, what all the various settings are for, etc. 2. I realize that this is not designed to be a high-end commercial machine. This review is based on home use. To keep this simple, this is just a terrible printer. In fact, I have never owned a printer that I was less pleased with. First of all, it is finicky about the paper feed, and will often claim it is out of paper when it is not.
Summary: When we bought the Brother all-in-one printer, we were looking for a printer to replace our previous non-responsive HP 3 in one printer. Also, now with wireless in our home, we wanted to take advantage of printing from any room. Brother is said to be a good product that up until recently was only available to professional companies. Pros: -Fax option: we don't have a land line, so the fax option serves only as the wireless printing.
Summary: The printer worked great. Loved the wireless capability, color output was great quality. Automatic document feedback works wonders when scanning multiple pages. This was a great printer. Unfortunately, after a year of light use, it died. The black ink no longer prints, even though I tried two different brand new cartridges. I did a search on the Internet, and it turns out this is a common problem. The print heads are off poor quality.
Summary: I agree w/ many of the reviewers that the machine is sleek, easy to set-up and use. However, in nine (9) months of ownership, I am always having trouble with it. I've spent hours speaking to Brother's support team to little or no avail. We can get it working for a week or month, then the wireless printing/scanning capability ceases to function. When it works, it's great, but I need more reliability from a printer.
