Summary: Would have preferred the connections on the outside, network and USB. The lid support is a bit recalcitrant on closing.
Pros: I travel for a living and needed something compact that allowed me to FAX work documents and have network printing for the road. This is working out very well. No problems using from several machines. This is a lot more solid than the HP that I was using, and it had no network support.
Cons: A nifty travel case would be cool; but otherwise, no problems.
Summary: I upgraded to Windows Vista Ultimate. My HP 1115 PhotoSmart printer and my Canon FB320P Scanner were no longer being supported in Vista. The HP was not that old but the Canon Scanner was Ancient. Hp suggested I buy a new printer when I was totally happy with my existing HP Inkjet.
Pros: Very compact for a Multifunction machine. Sheet Fed copies, Fax Scanner, Printer (printer tray holds legal size, letter size and a seperate tray installed for 4 x 6 photo paper), Photo card reader, LCD screen, networkable etc... It has 4 seperate ink cartridges. Fairly inexpensive ink cartridges....
Cons: Good but not great printing. Average printing speed.
Summary: The cart.'s for my Canon fax machine cost about forty $ so I decided to give this a chance instead. Bought it for under a hundred, and never looked back. Got it working on Vista Business after downloading new drivers off of Brother. I'll use this for the occasional fax and color prints.
Pros: Vista support, scanning and printing over ethernet.
Cons: On the slower side, but that's to be expected for this price-point.
Summary: I printed a 98 page color document and 10 color photos using this printer and it dropped the yellow and magenta to 1/2 - 2/3 the cyan to 2/3 and barely touched the black. this printer hardly uses any ink it seems.
Pros: Excellent printer, supreme photo quality, extremely fast printing for a ink jet, really cool paper tray (it's kinda like a clip for a rifle, except paper, not bullets... and printer not gun...) Ink for this machine is significantly cheaper than for most other inkjets, also seems to have more ink ...
Summary: Bought to replace an HP All-in-One...I hate HP's outrageous ink cartridge prices & because it had network capability. I love the ability to replace only the color needed. It works well with my Linux, Mac & Windows machines. And I was pleasantly surpised how well it prints with Linux.
Pros: Network connection, cartridges for individual colors, surprisingly good print & scan support on Linux, automatic document feeder.
Cons: Relatively slow startup for first page, but I can live with it. A bit noisy when printing. The Mac OSX print drivers make it hard to tweak the print resolutions.
Summary: Bought this for a home network. Planed to use mainly for general purpose home printing/copying, tested the photo capability with the enclosed 4x6 photo paper and looked as good as the ones from the photolab.
Pros: Network Ready, individual ink cartridges, color LCD, front USB & card slots. Makes great borderless photos. Document feeder for making copies. Price much lower than competing brands with the same features.
