Summary: Pros: The only saving grace about this printer: I bought this printer at a sale for 30 bucks last year. So I didn't pay anywhere near what is advertised. It's OK when you want to use the printer rarely. CONS: 90 dollars for this printer - No way.
Summary: I have owned the MPC442C and got a error 41 over the weekend. It said call Brothers immediately. I call and was on hold for only 21 minutes. They said I was out of warranty and nothing could be done.
Summary: Do not buy this printer unless you really feel the need to waste money. If I could give it zero stars, I would. I have had this printer for less than a year. If any of the cartridges goes out it will not allow you to print at all.
Summary: I have to agree with the other reviews on this device. It is ok to decent as a fax machine and a document scanner. I use it with the included PaperPort software to scan documents (recepits, etc) to PDF for archiving. I also use it to send faxes about once a week or so.
Summary: You get what you pay for...... Read all of the features and this sounds like a great deal! My printer worked for about two months, then the black wouldn't print. Customer Service shared an undocumented trick of cleaning the replaced color 5 times after changing the cartridge.
Summary: I used this model as a scanner. Mechanically, it was fine and delivered image quality consistent with resolution specs. There is no reason to believe that it would not have worked equally well as a fax machine.
Summary: I have bought 4 of these machines (work home etc) and it is a great light duty unit for the price. My only complaint is the paper tray that could be larger and sometimes causes jams. As for the ink...hello! you didn't notice there are no chips on the cartriges..
